I took the 'fast learner' perk, but it's rendered irrelevant by the 'stressed easily' flaw, leading to me only being able to level up useless knowledge skills in the 'nerd knowledge' category.

I finally got rid of 'Stressed Easily" (well, mostly. -Ish.), by using "Yukkuri [edited]eitte ne!", and the "Whatever!" skill perk. Still have a bunch of excess points in "nerd knowledge" and nearly none in "popular culture 101", but PC101 points are WAAAY overrated in my opinion. Sure, that makes PC101 checks harder to pass (much harder in a lot of cases), but those checks are mostly for random socialization cutscenes. My job doesn't involve a lot of that, and with the new Red Flag laws I've decided to assume that it's better to stay single for the forseeable future than potentially get involved with crazy or anti-liberty and then get Red Flagged by an ex-SO, because my civil rights matter A LOT more than some Yasen.

Speaking of such matters... I found a thing:

I figured I'd post, given a variety of current events, and in case anyone wants a new wallpaper.

EDIT: Welp, WG forum softwares apparently censor certain sections of Romaji. Whoopsie daisy.

Man eats absurdly expensive banana.

And I just learned that we're developing plastic-eating bacteria. Because apparently NOBODY has considered the consequences of making BACTERIA that eat one of our most critical modern materials.

Folks, it was a good run, but I think it might be winding down right about now. So, what do YOU think it'll be: Virus-chan, Bacteria-chan, Killer Asteroid-chan, Pollution-chan, or Nuke-chan?

Well I think the problems of plastic pollution might come first, though I can see how this could be a threat like grey goo.

As for the banana eater, all I can say is HA!

I've seen variations on this that only work in controlled conditions, so that the bacteria can't just eat plastic in normal circumstances.

And variations that require the plastic to contain a specific ingredient.

Problem is, they're bacteria. How long until they mutate and figure out how to eat something else, or work outside of a given environment? I would have figured Jurassic Park would have been a nice cautionary tale regarding this sort of thing. If they DO go down this path, folks using such bacteria better keep them contained in bioreactors, because otherwise I can see some radical environmentalist group potentially using them in an urban setting to cause chaos. I mean, imagine what those things could do in a hospital if they ate nitrile material, or to a water treatment plant if they ate PVC. I sure can. However, *that* wasn't actually my main focus.

What I was trying to get at is as follows: I found out about the $100K+ banana LONG before I ever learned about the plastic-eating bacteria (by accident, randomly browsing the 'net no less), even though the plastic-eating bacteria is much older news, and far more important. The issue here is that for every couple hundred people in the United States (and anywhere else that this story is even a thing) that are discussing the various merits of 1/10th of a million dollar bananas being duck taped to sheetrock, there is what, one or two people who know about advances in biotech such as plastic-eating bacteria? As I was trying to say: we, at least as a general cultural group if not as a species, are probably just about done. Now all we have to do is wait for the final straw, because none of us are going to have the ability to team carry this much tomato through this crisis of deliberate ignorance.

I think we might be in a bit of a trouble spot here, with no way out save to let it run it's course.

Rene Auberjenois just passed away.  Best known as the actor that portrayed "Constable Odo" on DS9.  We must be getting old if our Star Trek and Star Wars heroes are passing away.

And not exactly the older ones, either.

...You got that weird profile bug where it goes straight from Main Menu to Start, didn't you? It's a known issue, but they STILL haven't patched it. Apparently some gal from the Department for the Regulation of the Technical Projects Section of the Rebuild Design Bureau was assigned the job of fixing it, but nobody's seen her since she took a temporary leave or something... "Aqua", I think her name was. And something about a hero. It ALWAYS seems to involve a hero. Anyhow, I heard from a friend of a gal who works near the Office for the Management of the Committee of Spirit Rebuild services that they've got a service to rebuild an already-set skill group. Apparently you need 42 virgin goats, 69 gallons of extra virgin olive oil, a virgin succubus, a virgin plot of land, and 420 tonnes (metric) of salt harvested from the tears of virgin gamers (probably the easiest part, actually), and then there's this special circle you make out of all that and it opens up a portal you can take down to The Management Office for the Bureau of the Reincarnation Services Committee.

After you get down there, you need to grab a form for the requisition of a technical support form (apparently it's only 99 pages, single-sided), fill it out (remember, it has to be in triplicate!), and take it to the undead Vogons at the front desk. Should only take about 10 months, and you'll have a key to access the elevator down to the Bureau of the Reincarnation Services Committee, where you'll have to fill out a 420-page form, double sided, fortunately only in duplicate this time, and take it to one of the succubi up front. Try NOT to bring it to them right before their union-mandated break... They tend to be a bit distracted. Get it to them afterwards; the break is only 36 hours long, and the ones still sparkling afterwards will fill it out in only about a week, especially if you help them re-focus on their next break. Sometimes they'll apparently give you a few bonus points by accident.

After you've filled out THAT form, I heard that you then get sent off to Reincarnation Services Committee Technical Support Center, serviced by their support personnel. Go to any of them, it doesn't matter which one; supposedly each and every one can speak EVERY language except your native language very clearly. After you've chatted with them a bit, they should open up their profile, completely ignore anything you said, and ask you to try turning your life off and back on again. Now, at that point the portal you took should register on your profile, and you'll be sent off to the manager's office. I dunno what happens after that, but supposedly they fix it in there. Somehow.

Alternatively, you can just wait for Truck-chan to isekai you off somewhere, and hope that you get a proper reset, instead of getting turned into a demon spider, slime, dragon, brick eater (almost forgot about those poor fellows), or getting sex-swapped and reborn into a weird hybrid of WWI and WWII, but with explodey magicky sh**. However, I heard that the profile bug tends to be persistent across your saves, so it's probably best to start getting your supplies gathered up...

Imagine if he had just used that $37 million wasted on ads across the country to help people instead.

But what fun is that?!

He doesn't want to help people with charity, he wants to "help" people by making their decisions for them, telling them how to live, and "protecting them from themselves".

That is the $1 million question. A deal with Hades? Surely not. I'm sure it will be dealt with in the movie.

Apparently you can call anyone you don't like a Pedo on Twitter now, and it doesn't constitute defamation.
