In comedy news, Russia got itself banned from international sport again.

Rene Auberjenois just passed away.  Best known as the actor that portrayed "Constable Odo" on DS9.  We must be getting old if our Star Trek and Star Wars heroes are passing away.

RIP Best Shapeshifter

Do something wrong.

When caught, lie about it.

When called on lie, attack accusers as "just always against us and biased".

When lie is confirmed, double-down, scatter-shot dozens of "alternative facts", point to "conspiracies".

Etc.

The sad thing is, just reading that, you wouldn't know if I was talking about Russia, or Trump and his cronies.

There's a difference?

Or Boris Johnson. The UK is going downhill very quickly.

That there's really not much difference was something of the point.  :hiding::B

And yes, BoJo and his ilk, and the leaders of several eastern European states, could also be just as valid.

So how much of a farce will the Senate trial be... (if Turtles even lets it get that far)?

Given the Senate trial is presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and there is zero historical precedent for blocking a trial, there is only so much Moscow Mitch can do.

Not that I put MUCH hope in it, but Roberts has shown an old-fashion streak of judicial independence and non-partisanship from time to time, so at least there's a chance that the trial itself won't sink to the level of undignified garbage that Mitch would sink it to.

It'll be the polar opposite of a Cardassian trial.  The point of the trial won't be to determine guilt or innocence,  but rather to show just how innocent and christ-like a figure free from original sin the defendant is.

That is the $1 million question. A deal with Hades? Surely not. I'm sure it will be dealt with in the movie.

Crazy guess here ... Zeus is watching Diana from afar, and realizes the importance of Steve in WW's destiny ... has Mercury rescue Steve just before the explosion, to be kept in suspended animation for the duration of a test or write of passage.

I thinks its gonna be a farce of mostly attacking Biden, Hillary and her secret pizza basement that contains deleted emails, and the overall process of impeachment because so far they haven't really put any kind of real defence for Trump (because you know theres no real way to defend it)

Or - at one point in the trailer Maxwell Lord is holding some sort of artifact. Maybe it grants wishes. There is also something in his voiceover related to that, I think.

Well, it's not the same level of badness everywhere. I started following a bunch of Brits on twitter - ppl interested in tanks or in SF/fantasy books. And the sheer amount of bald-faced lying going on in the political ads is something that I don't think we've had here in Canada yet.

on a federal level, no. Alberta's UCP has done its level best to emulate Trump though, what with laying off the guy investigating the various shenanigans the party engaged in during the party's leadership race and elections.

Arguably they've gone one step further setting up a "war room" to look into "anti-oil and anti-Alberta" people. And they lied about/low-balled how much money it would waste  cost. No need to spend money on an extra-judicial tarring-and-feathering process, with no appeal process or recourse t defend yourself.

Sigh ... always the half step with WG.  This situation with the anonimizer,  it makes little sense to me.  Why bother to make an ID protocol ... an option?  I mean seriously, who wouldn't want to know your opponent "magically"?

The reality is that no commander in history had such 'live and accurate' intel ... and yet proponents in the game take as gospel?   In fact, many who post take such an offense that there new mission seems to be 'focus on anons'  ... not the tank in a crucial local ... or a demonstatively superior player ...no, rather the cipher or unknown variable.  IMHO, WG dropped the ball here, it should have been global and mandatory.

... to put it another way, how far would a government last if it subsisted on 'voluntary' donations?

Yeah, that's true, I wasn't thinking of Alberta.

I don't understand your point tbh. Being able to see the enemy players' names has nothing to do with simulation.

I wish these idiots who are upset luck finding the anons. I certainly did not distinguish a pattern in the anon-ids which the game gave me (shown in the after battle reports only by first clicking on my line, then hovering my mouse over the eye icon in the upper right?).

Well I must say, if you are finding it next to impossible to tell (in game)  I find that a great relief ... it seemed from a number of early forum testers that it was fairly easy to differentiate the anons from the fully disclosed player.

Well, I haven't made a full list of the names I've received. One looked very unconvincing unless you were on the RU server - it was long and ended with "ru".
