The original scene would probably get by without too much objection in 2017.   In 2002, I don't really blame them for changing it given that it doesn't really change the story to do it the other way and it would have opened some wounds.

Interesting choice by the makers of the comparison to add that particular piano track.

Last week's reading was about fiction; either:

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1524760129/ref=nosim/librarythin08-20

...or...

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0765390906/ref=nosim/librarythin08-20

While the first has some clever world building, on the whole, I didn't find it all that involving; this is before you factor in my lack of enthusiasm for faux memoirs.  The second is well written but it really wasn't what I expected, as when you set up a Lovecraftian scenario with a Cold War background I have certain expectations for action and suspense that were not met; that this is a first novel might have something to do with that.

Hey Rita, I tried something crazy:

I1pQ8Ct.png

Not sure if this is intentional, but it looks like the crown is experiencing dimensional phase shift from 3d to 2d ... the bottom head band shows a partial worms eye view, but as you move up the crown, it appears to gradually shift to 2d starting at the pearl filaments (unless this segment is a front facade with only partial curvature around the crown) ... and not sure about the circular? spherical to adornment ... its either a flat disk tilted downward, or a sphere likewise pointed directly at the camera/viewer.

The weather has been so miserable today. It's giving rain pretty much all week last time I checked.

I struggle to stay camping even during the summer. Luckily Mr. Scottish lives nearby where I spent a whole week camping this year and he provided me with his stuff. He gave me a proper sleeping bag, I was quite warm inside it, so much so I could sleep In t-shirt and shorts. The weather did roughed up too much tho, reinforced my tent with double rope and slept at his place when the storm hit. Unlike you, I wasn't being paid for it. ahha

Yeah, I will talk and check on him whenever he decides to send a message. I'm not gonna pursue him in any shape or form just so he knows where we stand.

When I told him to break up with her was for his own good, only, for his own good.

Fker sent me a "good night"bare-chested selfie...I know him too well and know what is going and OH HELL TO THE NO! He needs time to settle his mind not to be hoeing himself.

My rules are very simple:

He gotta do more than showing his Gerard Butler looks to me. He should know better than that by now. Seriously... I only noticed this when I recently re-watched 300. He looks just like the actor but better. A refined Scottish confused hoe Butler.

*Unimpressed*

As for parent meeting, I am a natural but The Younger Laddie's mom will be a proper boss battle.  I'm gearing up and enchanting my weapons before I accept the quest. Do want to impress her. If he's of any standard to go by they are really nice people.

Been invited over to meet them all next weekend and spend the night over. Beer festival, fun park and shopping for tank models are some of the things we got planned. Other friends are joining us.

Thank you.

Yeah, many other people have been saying that... I'm gonna order one and see how it goes. My British mammal friends were right... I may be a lizard after all.

This is such a weird thing to explain but I want to cocoon and enclose myself and at the same thing I feel something that I can only call as claustrophobia.

I hate to say it, but I think he is going to keep pining for your attention. He seems like a good guy but is going about it in a way that he knows can get into your head lol.

Be wary of being trapped by a line of friends asking to be something more... :D

I've actually seen this happen before to one of my friends... Nice lass who hangs out with the guys and is very tomboyish... came to a Christmas party and it only took a few sips of alcohol before 5 of her "Friends" asked her out... All one by one within a 45 minute period...

If she wasn't actually quite shocked and scared, it would have been absolutely hilarious. Completely took her by surprise :|

Try one of those fancy full-spectrum LED lights, see if that helps.

... full spectrum florescent bulbs, while costing a bit more - do seem to have positive effects.  Personally, I found this out almost literally by accident, my mother tripped on a low curb and fractured her left arm (had to immobilize it with a cast for 6 weeks).  This got me to doing research on how to streamline/ease her daily routines ... and happen to uncover the potential issues surrounding SAD (as linked to the type of light encountered and how much).  This then lead to rebulbing the entire house with full spectrum FLTs, along with a number of strategic reading lamps for favorite chairs ...

After a few years of such use,  I have come to the tentative conclusion that she is generally happier, particularly during the rainy/winter season (which has her indoors more of the time) ... IMHO, a good buy and well worth it, especially considering that its a simple ... as well, changing a light bulb :D  I guess now, the next thing to consider would be LED equivalent full spectrum tubes (which are generally significantly better at quick starts and longevity at a cost ... to cost).

Yes, this can be a tricky and highly awkward problem ... with a group of same sex male friends (of heterosexual orientation), getting into minor mischief and or trouble of the normal kind is par for the course ... but when you add in a gender twist, things can get complicated ... in predictable ways.  Now, this is not to say that a guy can't be good platonic friends with a girl, but to point out that it can be harder and trickier to maintain, particularly in an honest and forthright relationship.

Heard mixed reviews about It. Probably one of the least sexual double entendre's ever. Lol.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very similar to Stephen King's written stuff in terms of how it balances character development, humor, and the actually scary/unnerving parts.

Also, your chest hurts....because....?  I'm afraid "It" isn't exactly my cup of tea for desired viewing experience, so I'm not sure why it would make your chest hurt.  Too much laughing?

It was just very intense. The movie only has a couple of jumpscares, whereas most of the scary parts have actual buildup, so combine that with how loud movies are played in theatres and that I was sitting pretty close to the screen, and it ended up feeling almost physically stressing.

It went to the Dead Space school of suspense were when ever something scary happens deafening noise has to play over it.

Pretty much. I did think it would have still been scary even if the scary moments didn't lobotomize my eardrums.

I loath the default cranked-up audio level in most movie theaters now... and because of surround-sound sitting farther back doesn't do any good.

And even without that, most people want to sit so close that the edge of the screen is barely in their peripheral vision, whereas I'm far more comfortable if I'm far enough from the screen that the area around the screen is clearly visible.

In hindsight, I was sitting somewhere between 1/3 of and 1/2 way between the bottom and top rows, but it was in the largest theatre in my local Cineplex, so the screen still took up my entire periphery.
