Of note here is that Kushner shares his father-in-law's veneer of success and underlying failure in business

This song somehow reminds me of each patch WOT's develops.  One of my favorite bands.

There's a thing about Portuguese...

The letter "H", if nothing to accompany it behind is a silent letter but when we speak in English, for some odd reason, hard a hard time pronouncing words like "air".  Most of the time we make it sound like "Hair". Its one of those things I'm aware of but still do it if not paying attention to this particular detail.

I detest any and all pictures of me as a teenager... So lanky, skinny and spotty and greasy hair... no wonder I had no luck with the ladies back then.

I wouldn't worry you guys about old pictures. I am sure your nerdy personality syndrome had something to do with your predicament back then and to this day. :)

I myself looked like a young Peter Frampton in those days and pretty much how Peter Frampton looks now.  :B - :(

I have a photo book on my desk with pictures of a 17 year old me. Maybe I might be convinced to post a picture from it.

Rita, I myself and others here would love to see some of your high school yearbook pictures or were they put in Portuguese fisherman cod paper pages, smell of fish and haven't held up that well? :D

Could humanity end up trapping itself on Earth?

https://www.washingt...uin-it-forever/

I wonder if there are technical solutions to a trash-locked planet...

It's not that bad.

Space is really big, and satellites are really small. It looks bad on some visualizations. A "close encounter" with space debris [which prompts avoidance maneuvers] is if a uncontrolled space object comes with 50 kilometers of the vehicle of interest.

I'll see if I can find the visualization plotting the things in earth orbit that lets you zoom in and get an idea about just how far apart these things are. Also, we tend to put dead satellites into "garbage orbits" if we can't de-orbit them, where they're not going to endanger anyone.

That's not to say there aren't concerns: we throw stuff up there all the time and fairly frequently leave it there because its cheaper than saving the fuel to de-orbit it or shunt it to a safe orbit, and potentially something could also stray out of its safe orbit, but it's not a cause for panic. It looks dramatic when the space vehicles are visualized a thousand times bigger than they actually are, though.

And, we like to think about solutions to the space junk problem anyway. It's not as easy as going out there with a butterfly net for dead satellites, but in all probability it can be done.

I am offended, sir!

My "nerdy personality" isn't a syndrome or disorder, and is no cause of any predicament [except maybe the one my wallet has with always being emptied to pay for expensive metal soldier models] of mine!

It is the highest impact "extra stuff" item on my resume. You would be amazed at just how much of an impact that one little line makes on people.

Let's see... while I was a Scout I went to Philmont http://www.philmontscoutranch.org/ (somewhere in the archive I'm in a crew photo (July 1984 I think), I went to the National Jamboree in 1985 and had the pleasure of tent camping in a hurricane (Hurricane Bob) which was actually as fun as it was memorable, spent time at the local council's camp in the Adirondacks https://www.senecawa....org/massawepie and learned a lot of things about leadership and project management that have proven to be valuable life long lessons.
