On that:

I one time had a teacher's assistant ask me if I was from Hawaii. I asked him why he though so, and he said, "You talk like a person from Hawaii, if they could speak English right." I had to laugh at that.

BHAHAHAHAHAHA ... LOL!

Last time I was in Isla Cristina was about 10-12 years ago (maybe more) when I went to an Athletics competition in Huelva.

Portugal VS Spain.

I participated, 100m plain and Shotput.

You bet I brought the 1st places home.

No worries, we just have to convince the Chief on the merits of an island event ... a future meet & greet for ... I don't know, a "War in the Pacific/WoT Rememberance" or some such ... :great:

You don't have to convince me, I have been pushing for a sort of WGCon at Pearl Harbor for about three years.

That said, Naval Legends has been talking about going that way, so a meet greet one evening should not be out of the question.

Beautiful ... from the looks of it, Porto Covo wouldn't lose to Hawaii in terms of natural splendor and 'old world' charm.

I do go to this beach a few times a year where the first transatlantic radio transmission occurred.

Given your considerable expertise in this area ... how would you elevate or increase the quality of the article?

I was out taking a deserved time off and was not informed of this article making. *sigh*

Will speak tomorrow with Blockhaj to brief me before posting articles like this bc I would have told him to talk with you.

He's new and is still being guided.

Went to the Canadian archives today...  low point was two boxes did not contain the files they should have, and one box I was brought was just the wrong box.   I did get to talk to an archivist about the missing files though, hope to see them next trip.

Interesting things:

- came across some pictures of the Ardeer Aggie, a project to put a giant recoilless rifle in a Churchill instead of the petard mortar (for the AVRE)

- a report from about July/August '44 by the 12th Manitoba Dragoons about their operational procure doing recce

I've left him a message already.

He did not inform anyone in the team. :/

Don't worry if I sounded high-stung or something, Rita. Just in my "pompous" mood as I'm punching out my steampunk.

Oh I know, I've known you for years now and do not worry. :)

Just wanted you to know what happened.

So today I complimented my company on his intellect and called him a "Very Model of a Modern Major General" and I kid you not he started singing this to me:

I have never been so delighted... lol

Yeah, it'd be like me posting my UK/Commonwealth tree. Haha.

You up should just make an article, Dai.

It's worth mention that, as Pirates of Penzance was put on in 1879, General Stanley's military knowledge isn't just inadequate, it's about 75-years out of date.

Pirates and Pinafore are great. I unfortunately haven't had the opportunity to see Gilbert and Sullivan's other plays. That's something I'd like to do someday.

I think my favorite song from Pirates is "With Cat Like Tread".
