A bit early here but I wish everyone a happy new year :)

I am chilling out with my cats snoozing, watching Kubo and the Two Strings.

Hey, I know that bloke on the right....

Just flew back from Ireland to California yesterday. Trying very hard to stay awake. Found a Pantomime in San Francisco to take the daughter to.

2018 is going to be a very interesting year for me for a couple of reasons. More to follow. In the meantime, I'm stocked up on ammo. I haven't heard much from friends in 2018, it's worrying...

Welcome back to the country!

So I picked up the Batman: Arkham series from Steam this weekend... first game is pretty good so far.

Also picked up Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. Also pretty good so far. That game has style just  leaking out of every orifice. Really good visuals and sound.

Such a vibrant and beautiful movie.  Love the art style of Studio Laika

Constantly putting 2017 in all my paperwork...

Edit:

Just had to clip my parrot's wings.

For weeks now he has been flying about and being extremely destructive, poor guy is just bored, but it's a lot better than being locked in his cage all the time and making him depressed.

At least now he knows that what he has been doing is very bad and we don't like that kind of behaviour.

Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger is fantastic, and one of the better FPSs I've played in years.

Hope you had a smooth trip back.

And funny, I had an invitation to spend a week to a month in Vegas on these days. Said no. :P

Got work to do on CVRTs in the UK and another essay to pass.

Poor bugger...

I noticed he does need some attention when we are playing PUBG that's why I whistle back at him through voice chat. :teethhappy:

Maybe talk more to him and give him puzzles for foodies. I used to have a lot of parrots and even an Eagle as a kid but my favourite was a Roseicollis. I would play with the bird every day after primary school and he would be on my shoulder the whole time even outside.

...Until one day I came back and the bird was gone. Dog killed it. I cried so much.

Yea, I saw someone streaming it a couple of months ago and loved the style. Decided to wait for a steam sale to get it, for like 3 bucks I couldnt really go wrong. Steam sales are so bad for my wallet... great for my game library though...

Awww, thats so sad. Lovebirds are amazing and can be so friendly, it really hurts to lose a pet that you are that close to.

I've come very very close to losing mine once, when he got frightened and flew outside an open door and away from the house. We were searching for hours and hours and were so lucky to find him just before sunset. Poor bastard would have frozen in the cold night with no food or water had we not found him up a tree. He circled around and must have been trying to get back home because he was no where near the direction he flew off in and was only about a hundred meters from our home, where I saw him fly off way into the distance in the other direction.

He's been there my whole life, and I love him to bits, and he is going to be around for so much longer. Especially with the crazy African grey lifespans. I really do just want him to be happy and safe.

Was compiling a 2017's album...

The Cardoso clan women about to go out on their special night, Halloween:

We have a lineage issue, sort of. Its rare for boys to be born in the Cardoso family so for decades we mostly have consort males.

Only very recently Portugal legalised the ability for a woman to pass her surname and the only way we kept the name alive was by circumnavigating the law  , with the help ofc from our willing males.

We are now faced with the same problem...My great-grandmother had 2 boys but my grandfather only had daughters and his daughters only had daughters.

On my grandfather's birthday, I told him at the family table that I have plans to change my surnames order and making Cardoso my last name. I have made this decision long ago and I am going to push the papers to legally disinherit my father. If I die before him he gets nothing, I am quite literally blocking him from having any change to inherit mine or any Cardoso's Patrimonium.

No bad blood. No spite. Just the right thing to do.

But what made him extra happy... I also told him that although I can't promise anything, if I have kids they will be registered with Cardoso surnames. Also, British law permit surname binding so I will keep the Cardoso flame going.

His reaction:

Also my grandma, the same person who a few years back told me to not have kids but now resorted to adopt a fvcking dog as her new grandchild/kid:

:teethhappy:

That's one of the things I love about British law.

Naming conventions have been completely thrown out of the window and we can actually call and officially name ourselves whatever we damned well please.

To the point that if you ever put a typo in your next airline ticket it is cheaper and quicker to legally change your name and get a replacement passport to match the ticket than to change the ticket itself.

Reporting from the other side. Seems OK so far, but I haven't checked the news yet.

Happy new year, everybody.

Been on mostly rum and my head is agony and I have not even slept.
