Damn right it was a derp post. What were doing all the way back at December 2017!?

Maybe getting a fresh copy of the first part of GuP das Finale?

Speaking of, I finally saw it. I like that they actually show progression. Students graduating, etc rather than keeping it "static" in time. Also, the "seedy" underbelly of the ship was hilarious.

Comparing the Soviet and German tech trees to literally everything else is pretty interesting. Seemingly everything ever scribbled on a napkin by a Soviet or German engineer, or floated as a "Wouldn't it be cool if...?" idea gets priority over just about anything else, though particularly stuff developed by the Allies.

Well, there's also much of the Italian line and the whole of the Chinese TD line.....

For maximum salt from the forums,

Maximum salt would be instituting as much historical accuracy as possible regardless of unicum whining

If they can make cosmetic skins for tanks and label them as non-historical, everyone can have their cake and eat it too (don't want to see them? set that flag).  That'd be great

Settings... General settings... check "Hide historical elements".

I don't need to see the reskins of the 40k tanks. VC tanks are, as I understand it, entirely new collision models which one has no choice but to see.

So, yes, there is a very substantial difference between the two.

The exact same thing could be said about quite a few tech tree vehicles in this game, like the tier 7 through 10 Italian mediums (and the premium tier 8), the entirety of the Chinese TD line and good portions of other Chinese branches, yet you draw the line at the VC tanks? Where's the option to hide all of Wargaming's fantasy inventions in the tech trees then?

Okay, I guess that'll be one way to get my first tier 8 ship and finally get the Pepsicola at the same time. Not sure how often I'd actually use it, as the "hug islands and loft shots over the islands" play style sounds so stupid and that's apparently the US cruiser play style? Of course, I also feel that the bow meta is stupid, but we're stuck with that too.

I have all the cruisers that are moving, fully researched and upgraded.  I have 12-14 point commanders on all of them.  I'd better not lose any of those commanders.

Let's face it, Edelweiss is a slightly redesigned Tiger II.  But evidently that's not "okay", because a Japanese company drew it.  Meanwhile, doodles made by students in Poland get to cap the line of a nation that ceased to be its own country from 1939 through 1989.

If I understood the article correctly, they'll get shifted to the new ship in the tier slot. So Cleveland's captain goes to Pensacola, Pepsi's to New Orleans, NO's to Baltimore, and Baltimore's to Buffalo. And you get 4 new captains that have initial points pool matching the new tier the ship was dropped to (6-8 points for Pensacola through Baltimore + Cleveland).

Yeah yeah, can get them on the Asian server. Don't think they've been sold since the initial sale.

The VC tanks have been sold twice now, at least.  The initial sale, and again quite recently.  There may have been one in there somewhere when I wasn't watching.

I might play again, at least temporarily, if I could command a Leman Russ [or Basilisk]. Lack of gun depression might be distinctly uncomfortable, though.

The whole 150mm of armor might also be an issue, depending on what tier it was thrown into.

Made it to rank 30 again, will reset this weekend when I can use the day of premium time.

EDIT: Ended up resetting rank anyway since the day of premium time was already awarded for reaching rank 30. Sigh.

It's a Leman Russ. I don't really care, nor do the people who write the fluff.

IA tried to have "realistic" numbers to do away with the arbitrary big-ness, when the gun is obviously not 120mm. Also, it's "cast from plassteel", which is a magic alloy which is "among the strongest and most expensive... lightweight and durable".

The characteristics of the tank as it plays would be more important than the actual stats. The gun is moderately large, the front/sides are strong but rear is weak, and the tank is really slow.

You wont. They'll stay in the tier theyre currently in and you'll get new captain for each ship as well.

Wargaming tried to bribe me back to their pathetic game with a Giulio Cesare a while back.  I didn't bite.  Now if they were to offer me an Arpeggio Hyuuga, I'd probably go back.  But seeing as how the Arpeggio collaboration has ended and the Ise class isn't in the game in any form, they have nothing to tempt me with.

Glorious derp is even more glorious as a cool looking premium.

Apparently even after all my time away I can still carry. Not that a top tier KV-2 driven by a semi-competent driver has to work incredibly hard to carry mind you.

As a side note, The Emperor was pleased and the machine spirit rejoiced in inflicting glorious carnage upon the heretics.
