Hello Fellow Tankers,  this is something I have noticed but have not seen a post on regarding the 0.9.17.1 Test Server

I Hope this gets ATTENTION from the people at WAR GAMING, I have been playing the Panther II & the big news here is that its getting a new gun the              ( 8.8 cm Kw.K. L/100 ) while this gun has great pen it also tends to hinder the Panther II in mobility you see this gun weighs 3550 kg in comparison to the

8.8 cm Kw.K 43 L/71 which weighs 2562kg

Now don't get me wrong I love the gun however this extreme weight of 3550 to the Panther II really affects the mobility of this tank. I hope by bringing this to your attention that you will increase the power of the final engine or work with the Terrain Resistance Stats to compensate this issue OR >>>>> OR you can simply reduce the weight of this gun so that the Panther II can finally get a proper buff

Thank You for reading this post WG I hope this feed back helped

It won't lol

Basically 1000kilos isn't gonna change that much in the grand scheme of things considering how much the tank already weighs. It is just your own confirmation bias telling yourself there is a huge difference.

Nah, the tank is rather OK as it already is, this buff should have a trade-off to balance it.

So do you have your suspension all upgraded?

Do you use the enhanced belleville washers?

They do give you ways to work around the weight

What about crew perks? Does your driver have off road driving as a perk?

Is that the German enhanced suspensions?  If so, they do not thing to change traverse or ground resistance.  Simply just adds track HP and increases load limit.

Here's the Panther II with the stock tracks and enhanced suspension equipped.

Fill the tank with helium.

Pretty much everything in this game that has "Panther" as part of the name is.........sub par to say the least.

Kind of interesting though, during WW2 panther was one of the best tanks, if not the best but in this game it is absolutely useless.

Panther was never intended to be the speed-demon of mediums.

It's a long-range support medium with a gun and mobility reflecting such. The VERY MINOR reduction in HP/ton because the gun weighs more won't really change anything. If you need speed so desperately just get 105-octane gas. Otherwise, learn to adapt.

TL;DR

The weight of the new gun doesn't change its mobility in any stark regard. It's very minor and you're blowing it out of proportion. If you ever feel too slow, mount 100-105 octane.

Panther and Panther II were very good tanks when they first came out in WoT.  But years of power creep have rendered them somewhat obsolete for game purposes.  buff would be good.

It's true, I felt it slower reaction.

It is also ugly without the side skirts.

Clearly many of you are making statements based on the current format & you have NOT played the Tank in the TEST SERVER I suggest that you quit making responses that you know nothing about.

Another response was about skills or equipment So me respond to that as well because these tankers also haven't played in the TEST SERVER either ... You can unlock all the skills in the test server for your crew to see how the tank will respond. You can Purchase any equipment to help your tank . You can Unlock all of the modules of every tank so that it is fully unlocked & elited.

I have done all of these things in testing the Panther II & it is still awful in mobility this is the reason I placed the post in the beginning :)

I know what I am talking about, you have confirmation bias and have to assume people havent been on the test server to defend your opinions. We are telling you that 1000 kilos wont change the overall performance of the tank. You would think that after 40000 games you would understand how little weight really affects the tanks with different modules.

http://beta.tanks.gg/v09171ct/compare/panther-ii?t=panther-ii_61112i

this link compares the panther II with itself with the L/100 and L/71 guns.

both are fully upgraded with 100% crew and no equipment or consumables.

The L/100 reduces the P/W ratio to 12.79 HP/T from 12.98 HP/T with the L/71

nothing else changes with the soft stats of the tank, hence your confirmation bias is strong and you have no argument and this topic is pointless

Again you haven't played the test server & you haven't played the tank all your spouting are stats without any real play time. I suggest you play the tank on the test server before spouting off stats :)

Can I add something about the new Panther II model?  Anyone else notice the barrel length of its guns?  The 8.8 cm L71 barrel is much longer than all the other 8.8 cm L71, comparison vehicle (Panther 8.8).  The new 8.8 cm L100 should be the length of the new 8.8 cm L71 and the L71 shortened to the same barrel length of the Panther 8.8's L71.  There are other models in this most recent patch that needs corrected as well.  Example for those curious look at the VK30.02D's 8.8 cm L56 and compare it to other 8.8 cm L56, vehicle comparison  (VK30.01P).  Come on Wargaming, let's get our modeling scale unified please.

As far as the vehicles performance after the 9.17.1 patch.  I enjoy it as well as it brethren Panther, Panther 8.8, E-50, and E-50M even more than I did before.  They are more responsive and agile than before.  The new gun depressions are great and allows for better protection of the soft lower plates.  I especially enjoy their new HD models minus the barrel modelling issue I just posted above.

the tier 6 VK M is a more accurate representation of the Panther in this game
