I found a fix for the lag spikes I was having. This puzzles me because I have a top tier 1070 Nvidia video card as well as a really top dog computer system. I will add this lag spike issue only happened with the 9.17.1 update. I ran on the highest graphics settings before the update.

The fix is set the graphics settings to "Custom" and details to "Standard", turn down some of the graphics settings. NO  MORE LAG SPIKES!!! YAAA!

Why do you consider this a solution when the game was working for you pre-patch?  Gimping your graphics settings just to get it to run is simply giving up and allowing WG to provide a sub-par experience compared to the way it was working.  They need to step up and admit there's an issue with the micro-patch.

My app lags, has 800+ ping spikes, freezes after a minute into loaded game and I have had this game on my tablet for a couple years with no issues until update. I have plenty of memory and my processor is running great on other games

Same here as well....Between 7PM - 11PM EST is when I get hit with server ended ping spikes....It happens in both East and West servers between that time frame....After that timeframe, when a lot of players log out for the night and the server population lowers, is when it seems to start become stable again!

I was on at 7am Eastern this morning with only 6000 people online.  It was just as laggy as ever.  Rubberbanding, ghost shots, tanks teleporting.

It's not simply a server load issue.

Lag spikes have been a horrid issue since the release of the latest update (9.17.1). Is it a server side coding problem, or client side coding problem?

I think it's a game client problem - I've had the same issues playing replays, albeit to a lesser degree.

After all the research I did into everything possible, I have come to this conclusion....This problem is 0 fault of any of the players, it is 100% wg's fault....It is a combination of their hosting provider with the recent server updates and the micropatch WG did 4-5 days back.....If everyone submitted tickets all at once, maybe WG will say hummm, maybe it is our fault...

I think we should just quit playing. There are sooo many other options in the video game world. Their game should work, without having to settle for a sub standard graphics experience. I may uninstall after fie years of enjoyment. FIX YOUR CRAP WG. FIX YOUR CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the same issues after that minor 50-100mb patch fix the released. Really annoying and, at times, unplayable. The most infuriating part is that the likelihood of them doing anything about this is slim to none.

I have been experiencing the same thing, I normally have stable 30-40ms ping on East.  Now I am getting random lag spikes to 100ms.  100ms should still be ok, but it seems like packet loss because i loose control of my tank for 1-3 seconds.  Very annoying.  I run without mods, turned the graphics to minimum (game looks like crapnow).  I hope they fix it soon, lots of missions to get done :)

I submitted a ticket about this.... This happened about a month ago as well.

Time to wait for the [edited]automated response of "Did you clear your cache because I'm an idiot and I don't know how IT works?"

Heyo, was right again. [edited]Wargaming support.

Hello Styo,

Thanks for contacting Wargaming support.

We'd like to gather some further information about your PC to help us determine the cause.

Below we have included a download link to our WG Check tool. This diagnostic tool can be used for World of Tanks, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes.

WGCheck Tool

Once you have downloaded it, open the zip file and run the WGCheck.exe. After it has launched, please select the World of Tanks icon and locate its directory. The default location is C:\Games\World_of_Tanks

  • Check the box that labeled, Add game client to the firewall exceptions
  • Check the box that labeled, Extended network diagnostics
  • Start the integrity check by selecting the orange Start Diagnostics button

Be patient, it will take some time to finish.

Finally, please send us the WGCheck log (WoT_Report) that generates after the program has completed its check.

We'll be looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,

Big Bird

They had me do all the same stuff.  WG Check, flush the DNS, flush the ARP, flush the toilet, reset the modem, wired connection, wifi connection, pingplotter, full uninstall and clean reinstall.  So far, no answers from support staff.

No other game I have experiences any lag, no internet streaming, downloads, or other online services experience lag.  Speed tests I run are within expected parameters for my setup.

The only thing that gives me this lag is World of Tanks, and it has only been since the micropatch on March 9.

I just sent them my response after running their tool.... Their tool said I have a lot of packet loss to my router. I laughed.

Block Quote

Ran your report tool. Attached are the results... I will add that I looked over the report and I have never  seen such inaccurate reports.. Your "tool" showed that there was 46.4% of packet loss to my router (192.168.1.1). Well, while that was running, I had other tools running too (I work in IT).

My results;
Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:
    Packets: Sent = 693, Received = 693, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 9ms, Average = 1ms

Interesting how I got 0% packet loss.

I just submitted my Ticket as well.  This morning I ran WG Check and it showed no packet loss.  The game ran fine as well.  Tonight around 7 I started experiencing the all to familiar lag spikes.  I ran WG Check again and it showed packet loss on all of their cogentco.com nodes.  Not a lot .1-.2% just enough to ruin the game experiences. I sent them the .wgc file with my ticket hopefully they wont try to somehow blame it on my rig LOL

OK, Well I got the standard "We believe you need to do a fresh install" BS. So apparently they don't even look at their own tools output.  Not sure if I should Jerk off and do it or not even bother.
