AND being about 20% more accurate, WITH a faster aiming time.. and the tank has thicker armor overall with more hitpoints????  Really??  This from a tank that was designed in WW2, while both the M46 and T54 were designed after WW2.   Believe me, I've been thinking the German medium line needed fixing up too.. but build a super tank.. no.    You may say it's whining.. but look at the thread!  E50 owners are loving it.. not because they finally have an equal.. but because they have something far superior.

Lol go ahead and completely ignore the much lower traverse and turret traverse of the E-50 compared to the T-54 and Patton.  After all they're only two of the most important stats for a medium tank.  

T-54 has less HP, but identical frontal armor, and much better side and turret armor.  The ammo rack is also in the back of the turret making it almost impossible to hit since it's a very small moving target.  It's also about half the size of the E-50 to boot, so it's much harder for artillery to hit and easier to take cover behind small berms.  I won't really comment on the Patton as I think it could actually use a buff.

I know it's hard to accept but the reason the E-50 drivers are all in love with the tank is because they finally have a strong performer at its tier after grinding through the 3001P and original Panther/Panther II.  If it were really as OP as you say then we should see T-54's disappear from clan wars completely...and somehow I don't think that is going to happen.

Azrou, I wouldnt say traverse speeds are the most important stats for mediums. E-50 plays differently than the other two. T-54 and Patton are better suited to close combat. E-50 is better suited to ranged combat so traverse isnt quite so important. It does play a part though.

rshoaf883, the numbers dont mean a whole lot. E-50 might have a good frontal armor but the sides are easy to penetrate with just about anything. What makes you say it has the best armor? Its also a much bigger target which makes it more likely to be hit.. hence the hitpoints.

Some say its heresy and just plain wrong when a german tank puts up a fight

To me E-50 is great, not OP, but definitely worth playing.

I love my E50 but i would not call it OP 1v1 against a t54 my arch nemesis in a panther 2 i usually win thru a combo of ramming and using my 105. E50 is also almost as heavy as an IS 7 which is why more aggressive drivers like it. they can take it go 50 ish in the top engine and ram just about any american or russian tank (kinda stupid to ram and german tanks as they tend to outweigh you). I think the e50 should be left alone. and the reason none of the more advanced german design got past the drawing board is because they lost the war.

Just a thought regarding this E-50 perspective.

I'm sure there were an awful lot of people who received already elite/fully upgraded E-50 tanks with their old Panther II 100% crew.

I'm also sure these same people instantly kitted out their new E-50 with all the bells and whistles.

The E-50 seems to be a pretty good T9 medium, more importantly it is a really good replacement in terms of similar play style to the Panther II. Just MUCH better at it(IMO).

So, in the early days of this tanks release we have a decent size group of maybe well experienced tankers, playing with their fully upgraded/elite etc E-50 right off the bat, using a tank that they are well trained in (playstyle wise) that can actually do well in it's role.

It looks like this could be distorting all the "E-50 OP" views a little. Maybe?

I'd like to agree with His Eminence because this is my experience. I unlocked the E50 and immediately elited it. Top modules, 100% crew with two specialties, best equipment for the tank, ect.

I also like to think I'm at least above average as far as skills go, or at least I know how to play the Panther series pretty well. So I have the tank topped out and I know how to use it. Just because I get a TOP GUN in the E-50 doesn't make it OP, because I've gotten top gun in other tanks as well; tanks that no one would ever consider calling OP.

My E-50 has the long 8.8, first engine upgrade and radio upgrade. In this configuration it feels like a Tiger I that... bounces shots and can go fast down a hill.

I had a T34 and a Tiger II fail to penetrate my face the other day in close combat, a total of 5 consecutive shots between the two of them. So far, I'm very pleased with the E-50.

i love my e-50.. its still the expert sniper like the panthers but can brawl it out quite a bit more. IMO the t-54 still has the edge on brawling (altho its much smaller now), but now u can at least be competitive. cant judge the patton yet as i dont have one, but i really like the t8 pershing - great jack of all trades (which ive heard the patton is too).

overall im really happy with the changes in the US and german medium lines - now all the t9 mediums actually mean something on the battlefield rather than just being a sideshow or food for t9 & 10 heavies/tds

Although I keep telling myself the 10.5 is the better gun, and for the most part it is, the 88 L/100 keeps drawing me to it, it's just so fun.

Its not OP, it has the same hull armor and  a weaker turret as a t54 and a more accurate alpha gun but the trade off is its size and maneuverability, its about 3 times larger than the legendary t54 therefore easier to hit its hull unlike the T54 where there is large chance of you hitting the turret or the tracks.

Weighing over 60 tons i cant call it a medium anymore, its more Like a down armored, re-engineered KT with a V2 rocket engine

if anything its less useful than a t54, in clan wars id rather take a is-7.

but id say its better than a panther 2, you no longer have to have a IQ over 100 to drive this thing effectively and that wasn't right.

And i hear the gun depression on this thing is the same as the t54.

The armour on the E50 is better than a KT, the gun is much better than the T54, the speed and traverse is not as bad as you would think, and the heavy weight means you take over 20% off a T54 or Patton with a ram. The T54 has a spot in clan wars as it can be a scout, due to its lower profile, but the E50 can have a use because it has one of the best guns in the game, and although the alpha isn't as high as the 130mm, it can still play a fast heavy role, taking out both heavies and mediums. Clan wars isn't even a good way to judge tanks anyway, since people just whore IS7's as mediums, in fact.. it's a terrible way to judge a tank.

Compared to the tier 8 Panther II, how significant is the increase in mobility?

I still find the Panther II to be similar to a lightly armoured heavy tank.

It depends. With the stock tracks and first engine upgrade (870HP), it's a slightly less maneuverable Panther II with a better top speed (that you only reach going downhill). With the tracks and second engine upgrade, the E-50 turns into a racecar...acceleration is fantastic, you'll routinely hit 50km/h or more, and you'll lose little speed while turning. No other tank I've ever driven has transformed so much with the final engine upgrade, it's that different.

Speed, maneuverability, bouncy armor, and an accurate gun...everything that made the 3002DB a great tank, the E-50 has even more of.

Thats what I did with mine.
Went from being marginally happy with my Tank to being very much happy with my tank.
