You immediately proceed to uninstall XVM and leave it that way

50% of the player base are whiners that complain before the match even begins about another loss without even trying.  If you are worried about stats WOT labs does a good job. just check it now and again to see where you can improve.

I regret ever downloading it personally. I have more fun playing not knowing my odds of winning and all the other stuff. Sometimes it can be useful but I really wish you could block your stats from going to their server.

I do not use mods for many reasons (e.g. needing to reinstall with each update, limited value, etc).

If you search in the Mac support forum you can find existing articles that describe how to install mods. I am not sure if the latest reshuffling of files and directories on the Mac changes anything. If you cannot automate it, I hear you just drop the relevant files in the mods folder.

Maybe this will work:

To install XVM [using .exe file] with the WoT Mac Wrapper:

Make sure WoT Mac Wrapper [WMW] is closed and all WoT processes have quit [force-quit if process does not quit after a minute or two]

Launch the WMW - do not click on [PLAY]

Go to the Apple Menu [the top most menu with the Apple logo on the far left] - click on [File] then click on [Run Command...]

A new window [dialog box] will open - click on [Browse...] button and navigate to where the XVM.exe file is located [generally in Downloads] - then click on the XVM.exe file

Next click on [Run] in the lower right corner of that dialog box - the XVM installer will launch and follow the instructions.  When the XVM installer completes - quit WMW

Reopen the WMW - click on [PLAY] and the Client will now have XVM installed.

Hope this helps ...

DIdn't know this could be done!  Many thanks.  XVM on the Mac just got much easier.

I started using XVM on my MBP client a week or so ago. It adds some information to the display that I find useful. Before installing XVM, I wondered why the whiners started so many games "Another loss..." More on my thoughts about that in a bit.

You get to the install point through the link in your documents directory. Installation is fairly straightforward. There are also directions for tuning the display if that's your thing. I haven't tried that yet.

IRL, I'm an engineer and deal with statistics all the time. The win/survival probability are interesting statistics, but is not a fact. Only after the match can the outcome be decided (well, sometimes it's obvious before mid-game what the outcome will be). Before enabling that statistic, I was estimating the probability by counting the number of 50%+ players on each side and calculating the proportions. That is a surprisingly accurate estimate, based on my nonscientific assessment.

But it isn't a fact until after the match. That's the way statistics work. Some matches that I expect to go my way don't, and vice versa.

It's a game... I play it for amusement... and sometimes it's interesting to watch the strategy and tactics of the other side when they overwhelm my team. I learn something... and I'm amused.

Use XVM or not, it's your game... but be sure to have fun!

Apologies for not responding earlier - welcome.

Please ensure that you check the XVM website frequently so that you have the latest version installed.

There is a new version of XVM for the micro-patch released yesterday.  Apparently not having the latest version of XVM is causing issues after installing the micro-patch.

Exactly it is a prediction.

Really wish some people would not take it as gospel and then piss and moan through-out the match in chat instead of pulling together and trying to win for the team.

I win probably 40% of my "20%'ers"

Never treat it as gospel, I don't even have it installed anymore

Not exactly a similar case here as I am still learning the game so I cannot expect to win too many low percentage games. But there have been a few and those were the most enjoyable and terrifying at the same time.

XVM has a place in the game and here are some instances where it has been helpful for me ...

I find XVM Minimap options useful when watching replays [both mine and others from wotreplays.com] as I can see where the 50m is, max detection range, max drawing distance, dynamic view circle, vehicle direction to help me better understand conditions/what I did wrong/what I did right/etc.

Having the server ping available is useful - at log-in [so I can decide if I really want to play then] and in the garage [so I can steel myself to any lag and adjust accordingly as I am already in game].

But honestly when I am in-game I only look at what the opposing team has, can I pen/hurt it with the load-out I am carrying, and where is the best place to go is when the team deploys.
