Although I have not participated in recent tournaments (barring some C2A/exhibitions), I appreciate all the work you've been doing on the NA side of things regarding tournaments!

not like anyone else has even a chance to win any of these tournaments and smaller clans are pushed out of clanwar map to so rip ig

So basically you're saying that the better players are winning the better prizes for competitive gameplay.....? I fail to see the logic is why this is wrong.

Joke's on us, my team won too many battles to get a good prize.  I never thought tourneys would get so bad that I'd have to utter those words, yet here I am..

*waits patiently for prizes*

This thread has a lot of complaining. I wanted a prize so I competed. Seems simple to me.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks Dance! o7

MATH TIME

914 teams so -

1000/914 = .1094% for each team

Lets look at teams ranked 1-45, as the are affected most closely by the math,
due to the small amount of teams in the group.

Rank x # teams in that rank

1  x 2 = .1094 x 2 = .2188
3  x 1 = .1094     = .1094
4  x 3 = .1094 x 3 = .3282
7  x 1 = .1094     = .1094
8  x 2 = .1094 x 2 = .2188

Total for teams      .9846
ranked 1-8
9 teams in 1%

10 x 1 = .1094     = .1094
11 x 3 = .1094 x 3 = .3282
14 x 2 = .1094 x 2 = .2188
16 x 3 = .1094 x 3 = .3282

Total for teams     1.9692
ranked 10-16
9 teams in 2%

19 x 5 = .1094 x 5 = .5470
24 x 1 = .1094     = .1094
25 x 3 = .1094 x 3 = .3282

Total for teams     2.9538
ranked 19-25
9 teams in 3%

28 x 9 = .1094 x 9 = .9846

Total for teams     3.9384
ranked 28
9 teams in 4%

37 x 2 = .1094 x 2 = .2188
39 x 4 = .1094 x 4 = .4376
43 x 2 = .1094 x 2 = .2188
45 x 1 = .1094     = .1094

Total for teams     4.9230
ranked 37-45
9 teams in 5%

46 x 8 = .0194 x 8 = .8752

Total for teams     5.9076
ranked 46
8 teams in 6%

*EDIT*

The payout should be 0-1.99% get Mutz, 2-3.99% get Ravioli, 4-5.99% get SU-122-44, etc...

If so, teams in 28th place should receive the Ravioli because 4-5% actually equals 4-5.99% and all teams in 28th place were at 3.9384% collectively.

And teams in 46th place should receive a SU-144-44 because they were at 5.9076%.

Or are we rounding down?

*EDIT*

Is this the correct math?

If so, does that mean it all adds up?

DO WE NEED TIN FOIL HATS AND PITCHFORKS OR...

pacifiers and daipey changes?

Thanks Dance210 for the hard work and the chance to participate in your community event.

Oh: 1 more math edit -

5 3v3 tourneys @ first place = 3000 gold. A tier 7-8 prem tank and at least 2500 gold is better than that, so I'm happy :P

dance210, I don't know how you did your math, but I'm pretty sure everyone in 28th place should be in the top 3% bracket. Please fix this.

His math is wrong based on one simple point, top 2-3 means 1.01%-3% which means the top 27 teams are top 3%. When someone refers to someone as the top 1% of players you don't think they are the best 1.99% of players do you? Top 2-3% means that it includes people that are better than 3% and worse than 1%. Top 2-3% DOES NOT mean 2-4%.

28th misses out on the rev by one position, but that's how it works and dances math is perfect from what I can tell. It sucks to be one position off but there weren't any mistakes made. :)

I just thought since the prizes are given from top 2-3% then it jumps to 4-5%, so logically the 2-3% bracket would include up to 3.99%

Im pretty sure 4-5% doesn't include 3.9, but whatever wargaming has to do to decrease the prizes they have to give out. Even if they have to ignore logic.

1-2%, 3-4%, and 5-6% are all undefined, you're correct

In order to obtain top 1% prize you needed to be 9th place or better. In other words you needed to be in the top 1.00% and lower.

8th place was secured by 2 teams. 9th place was subseceded, so the next best team was shafted to the 10th spot.

Top 2- 3% is 27th place. In other words you needed to be greater than top 1% but less than or equal to top 3.00%

There was a 3 way tie for 25th place. They took the 25th/26th/27th spots respectively.

Top 4-5% ends at 45th - but dance was generous and rounded up to 46th (usually rounded down). So you needed to be greater than top 3.00% but less than or equal to top 5.00%.

Hope that makes sense.

generous

generous for shafting the teams tied for 46th and giving them a garbage prize instead of the type 62

You sound like an angry 5 year old that got the wrong video game for Christmas and is throwing a temper tantrum, give it a rest.

>want a lesser prize

>there was a mechanic for ensuring that players could choose a lesser prize if they wanted

>WG removes this

>WG places the SU-122-44 above the Type 62 (remember last year's tourney, the Type 62 was above a tier 8 or two)

It would not hurt you or your team in any way if we could choose lesser prizes, as I've stated already, the only reason to disagree is just to be a contrarian.  It shouldn't be bad to do well in a tournament, that doesn't make any sense.

Spoiler
