So i recently upgraded my GPU from a 1060 3gb to a 1080 8gb. When i go on to play some tanks, i get horrible frames which almost becomes unplayable. The GTX 1060 i had, had no problems, i was getting 100 FPS max, and this was with HD client on maximum grapghics! The drivers for the card are fully updated. I only changed the GPU so everything else should stay the same. My PC Specs: i7 6700 3.4 Ghz (8 cpu's), 16 gb DDR4, 1TB  harddrive, GeForce GTX 1080 8GB, Windows 10 64-bit, Direct x 12, The power supply is 500W so it can take a 1080, if theirs anything i forgot, ask me. I hope this can be fixed or else i'm returning the graphics card and putting the old one back in. Thank you

Edit: Apparently all my games are lagging, crap

I am running a 1080 and my fps in WOT sits at 119-120 nonstop(think the counter only goes to 120). So, something else odd has to be going on. Are your fans running hard on the GPU? Some models have had heat issues and if your case isn't moving lots of air, you might be hitting the thermal limit prematurely. It's really hard to say without some testing. Maybe check out GPU-z. It's free and it shows all the info on your card so you can see what it's doing when WOT is running so badly. That would probably be the best place to start. Also, depending on the age/model of the card, it may need a firmware update. Good luck.

Make a quick check to ensure that windows didn't change your refresh rate when you installed the card. Obviously that card should rock, so unless it sounds like its struggling(loud fan), or you didn't  get the 6-pin connector in properly, it may actually be a simple setting problem.

Turns out the new nvidia driver that i installed is causing the problems, The driver i was having problems with is version: 378.78, so i rolled back to Version: 378.66 and that fixed it all. Can you guys tell me what version your GPU is on?

What resolution are you running at?  With my GTX 1080 at 3440x1440 I average 117 FPS.  Even at 4k resolution you should be getting more than 40 FPS.

Check the refresh rate setting in the World of Tanks Graphics settings.

Disable V-sync in World of Tanks Graphics Settings.

Disable V-Sync in Nvidia Control Panel for World of Tanks and the global settings.

Check the monitor refresh rate setting in Windows.

If none of those work delete the WorldOfTanks folder in

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Wargaming.net\

All mine are on 378.66. Just because I hadn't noticed a new one dropped! I don't use Geforce Experience, so I just randomly check every month or so...

Yeah typically you want to be running the second to latest driver because the latest drivers have bugs like this from time to time. At least that's what I've done when gaming. Had too many issues when I install the latest drivers and those bugs aren't yet worked out.

I noticed but I decided to wait in case there was a serious issue that needed to be patched.
