I am an oldster and Casablanca was and is still one one of my all time favorites. It was made during WWII and most young people today have never seen it and might not like it anyway since it has such a complicated but fascinating plot.....nor does anything blow up real good in the film. Ha. Moreover it would not make a lotta sense to many these days unless they have a real good understanding of WWII history. Gotta know about Vichy France. What the hell are the Germans doing in Morocco? Etc. Etc. I also think it may have the most enduring lines of any movie ever made....
"Play it Sam. Play it!"
"Round up the usual suspects"
"But we will always have Paris"
"Of all the gin joints in the world she has to walk into mine"
"Reek! Save me. Save me!"
"I don't stick my neck out for no one"
"I am closing this establishment down!" "Why?" "I am shocked, shocked, to find that gambling is going on here." "Your winnings sir." "Thank you."
Etc. etc.
OH...also Ingrid Bergman was just flat out gorgeous in that film. Real class.
