Jeremia Jonson

His name was Jeremiah Johnson, and they say he wanted to be a mountain man. The story goes that he was a man of proper wit and adventurous spirit, suited to the mountains. Nobody knows whereabouts he come from and don't seem to matter much. He was a young man and ghosty stories about the tall hills didn't scare him none. He was looking for a Hawken gun, .50 caliber or better. He settled for a .30, but damn, it was a genuine Hawken, and you couldn't go no better. Bought him a good horse, and traps, and other truck that went with being a mountain man, and said good-bye to whatever life was down there below.

That was way better movie than people give it credit for, it was probably the best attempt to cramp a huge book story in a film

I think it is just hard to follow for people that don't do science fiction much

Also I will add to this that people these days don't have the attention spans to sit through movies like that anymore because of social media addictions.

Yes I agree, but I don't think that only the people are to blame, I have trouble paying attention the whole time to new films too, they are just made that way, I can watch a 50s science fiction without looking at my phone but the new ones - rarely

Just when effects were hard and expensive they were emphasizing on characters and story, now days they just trow you in the action from the beginning and glue the story here and there so you end up not really caring enough to pay attention

Also remekes, reboots and very predicable plots fell you already seen that anyway

I'm gonna be honest with you...

The BIGGEST gripe that I had about both Rogue One and The Last Jedi (haven't seen Solo yet) was that they kept throwing in characters and jumping from plotline to plotline or planet to planet and so you never actually got time to get invested in the situations or characters.

Spoiler

Say what you will about the prequel movies, but if a character died that you are supposed to feel emotion about them dying, that character got plenty of time in the movie before that so that you were at least a bit invested in them when they did die.

There is exactly one good movie that Dwayne Johnson has ever been in, and it's this one.

I get what you're saying, but I quite enjoyed both Solo and Rogue One. I agree that TLJ was the weakest movie in the franchise, though.
