9.17.1 works fine on older iMac, not so much on newer MBPr

MBP (Retina, 15in, Mid 2015)
OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
2.5 GHz Intel i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics (2; built-in & PCIe)
PCIe - AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2GB
Built-In - Intel Iris Pro 1.5GB

Before recent update, no issues. Always run in window on minimum settings. But with 9.17.1, I am having all kinds of odd issues both in garage and during game play. In the garage, cannot even view the tech tree. The only tanks viewable is the one currently under the cursor, the rest flash incessantly...same in tank carousel.

White text seems to "blow out" especially during game play - see pics below. And many map features - buildings, rocks, tress, will flash incessantly during a match. The player/tank listings in the team rosters flash incessantly, between that and the blown out text in the minimap, the only way to know who is dead and who is alive is the HT-MT-TD-etc icons at the top of the game window. A lot of the map feature issues could not be captured when I did screen captures.

There are no graphics drivers to update the cards. Using energy saver preferences, I made sure it used the better AMD card exclusively, it made no difference.

I am wondering if it will help if I:
1. Update to Sierra?
2. I tried deleting WOT and re-installing, but not sure I am doing a good clean un-install of both the wrapper and WOT, is there a definitive procedure on the forum for a definitive clean un-install/re-install of both the wrapper and WOT?

This sucks because I am on the road, about to get hit by this big snow storm and would have nothing else to do but kill tanks...it's just hard as hell to do so with the graphics malfunctioning like this. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

They are high-quality screen capture PNGs reduced to JPGs of the game run on minimum settings, then layer this recent development and yeah...its pretty bad.

Its making me look at buying a PC...just to run this game.

You have, like, 110 FPS.....

It's still possible to turn up settings slightly without reducing FPS too much

I upped the graphics from Minimum to Low, no change. Up to Medium, FPS dropped to around 50 and game modeling looks much better - terrain, tanks, but all the interface graphics - team rosters, minimap, chat, etc...all still flash on & off, the text colors and highlights showing team member status (alive v dead) are off, labels in minimal are all blown out like before. In garage, the models look nicer, but all the interfaces are still screwed up, all the tanks in the carousel and in the tech tree flash constantly.

The problem with the flashing artifacts and the missing tank icons are just a symptom of the new wrapper acting up. You can roll back your wrapper to a previous build or just deal with it. I have a copy of the previous wrapper modified a little bit to work with the new file system but you will probably need to reinstall the game when using it.

Unless there is a specific reason for running OS X 10.10 - update to macOS [OS X 10.12]

I have an even older 15-inch MBP Retina [Mid 2014] and are not experiencing the issues you are seeing.

Also I have a 27-inch iMac 5K Retina with a R9 M395X card [also running macOS] that is not experiencing the issues you are seeing.

I was having the issues with my 2011 iMac running 10.10.x. I tried dstud's fix multiple times but it just would not work so I gave up and used his utility to do a complete uninstall…

Then they announce the ability to win a free tier 8 tank so I got greedy.

First, I upgraded to Sierra.

Then, I reinstalled WoT. 2GB downloaded and installed… then 5 GB downloaded and installed…

I was about to try using the old version of the wrapper workaround again but said the heck with it and just ran the game with the current wrapper to see if anything had changed. It worked. For the last 2 days I have not had the issues.

Upping the graphics settings seems to have resolved most of the map-related issues (disappearing/flickering trees, rocks, and buildings), but the game interface stuff continues unabated.

What is the best method for a clean install? i.e. how do I ensure I clean both WOT and the wrapper off my drive? Will the utility perform the uninstalls?

I admit I am heavily reliant on Apple at home but not fluent in "Mac" at all and my work just does not lend itself to giving me more time to learn about them. The only functioning comps I have at home at Macs (iMac 27in mid-2012, rMBP mid-2015, a 4th Gen iPad, and a couple older MBP 17 inches, like 2008/9 vintage) but I rarely get any time on them. And at work, everything is PC. I get less computer savvy everyday.

EDIT: Used the Utility to delete all game files, tried to download & re-install wrapper/game via utility, the dmg will download and install to the Applications Folder but when I try to start the program, this is what I get...its only visible for a fraction of a second.

My iMac at home runs El Capitan (which I upgraded from Mavericks), but I had so many stability issues after that with either WOT 9.15 or 9.16, I did not want to sabotage the game running on my MBP, so I left the OS alone. WOT is the ONLY game I play. I guess it's probably time to go to Sierra.

You probably have the old utility, either download the new one (link in my sig) or you can complete the "uninstall" you started by going to your documents and deleting the WoT folder you see there.

I would recommend downloading the new utility and clicking "delete game files" that should get everything but the wrapper itself. Then just run the game.

The Utility was dated Feb 2017. Is that the newest?

Ya,

just make sure the WoT folder gets deleted when you delete the game files, that's the important one.

Yes, before I upgraded to Sierra, dstud's fix always resulted in that flashing dialog box. After upgrading the OS there was no need for a workaround.

Are you running the SD or HD client?
