I have been getting some strange lag spiking since patch 9.17 and it seems to happen during peak server usage when there are around 20-30k online total for NA. Anyone else having problems like this? Vote in the poll so we can see who is affected. I ran a ping plot test tonight and there seems to be some spikes in the bell network. Hop 17 is the WOT NA East server. Looks like there was a spike on one of the bell servers in my region and then another one on hop 16 just before it hops to WG NA east server in Washington. Usually I get bad lag spikes in the evening here during peak server usage for WOT. My internet seems to work as it normally does for everything else. I only notice the lag issues while playing WOT during peak times when there are around 25-30k total users on the WOT NA servers. There certainly are a lot of hops to get to the WOT server. Each hop is a server right? This means I am hopping around on 17 different servers to connect to WOT NA east?

I have definitely noticed more lag since the patch. I have not noticed a significant increase in ping, however desync of tanks and server reticle have been much more prominent.

I'm no expert but do servers need to be turned off or cleaned, have maintenance done? Maybe they are due?

Oddly  enough, just after the patch there was a survey asking if I was having lag problems. I had only noticed the normal amount of lag so I said no. Since then I have seen an increase though in lag spikes (just a second or two usually). They don't last long but still mess up my aiming and driving. Plus they are happening frequently. Maybe since I said I didn't have a problem they shifted some of my bandwidth to other players?

I have also watched more frequent incedents of others ingame driving up rock, striking buildings, each other.

So I'm fairly sure it's with them

So, I'm not the only one...

Lots more ping spikes since the patch.

Guess the server hardware needs to be upgraded?

OMG yes! Last night was terrible!

All I needed to do was to get one more kill to complete the T25 pilot mission for the day and then....

PING SPIKE! (love it when my ping reads 999. Thanks WG!)

For over an hour.

Ran speedtest.com and it definitely wasn't on my end.

This is definitely a WG issue.  Too many people with too many different ISPs that are geographically separated have complained about the latency and packet loss that corresponded directly with the download of the micropatch last week.

Something WG did, screwed everything up.  The game is unplayable in its current state.

Everyone needs to submit a ticket and flood their support team. Maybe then they will escalate this issue to their systems/networking team.

Yeah, I don't think the ping spikes went away until around 10PM EST.

I've been getting random lag spikes throughout the game since last patch, but most notably, whenever new tanks are spotted it occurs.  There also seems to be a correlation between how many tanks are spotted and the severity of the spike.  Spot 1 tank, slight lag, spot 6 tanks, holy crap Spike!

Ping is the same but recently lag spikes seem to be more prevalent.

Last weekend, because of a lag spike I fell of a bridge in my scout tank and drowned right at the beginning of the battle. :(

Considering how much coin they make of (me) us playing their game, you would think they would try to figure out what is going on. Instead, they  leave the burden on our shoulders with polls and network connection checks running logs for them.

If the lag started after a patch then no, WG Devs put an extra bracket somewhere in the code because they're hitting the vodka too hard. Dust buildup in theory would be responisble for lag if it caused the systems to Overheat, however: it takes a large amount of dust in a server room (to the point of absurdity) before that occurs given that Server hardware is typically thermally efficient.

Albiet.... tbh i totally wouldnt be suprised if their servers WERE wearing a fur coat of dust :teethhappy:

Anyway:

Yeah its beeh happening to me too. My base ping is also higher. I used to get 20-35ms ping (all hail university internet!) But now its up to 66 with random spikes above 160 and sometimes even higher in game.

WG what did you break?! :izmena:

Having strange issue when logging in. When I go to select East or West server it will show high ping, in red. Play East server 99% of the time, live in Maryland. Will go ahead and login with the high ping. Once in the garage, open menu with option to change server and check connection status. The connections will refresh and ping will return to what is normal for my area, it will go from 145 to 30 or less.

Go into random battle, check connection after and it will be back in red. Wait for refresh, it returns to normal. Has anyone else noticed this or have any useful suggestions? Not sure sending a ticket would do any good, this is getting really frustrating. I have never had this issue until recent updates. Checked my ping with Ping Plotter and it looks good from what I see, not the same as what server menu shows in garage.

My self and many others in the clan are having the same issue. Different PC's, different ISP's, different locations, etc so its 100% a server issue and not a personal issue.
