I started this same topic a couple days ago. Apparently, this is a common problem.

Users in the other thread have had success installing v6.5 then updating with the patches, as a work-around. You can download v6.5 here, the 6.5 to 6.6 update here, and the 6.6 to 6.7 update here.

You are going to have to re-DL the Torrent version of 7.1 via the links below the big red install button.  I didn't have a torrent program but installed one called 'Final Torrent' which was linked (somewhere in the process) and which installed quickly and got the job done.  I am now installing 0.7.1 w/o issues

I am running XP sp3 w\ undated Nvidia drivers and the game worked fine until last night (new program I installed broke something?) forcing me to reinstall WOT and thus, run into this issue.

the big red button gives you a file which is most likely corrupt or incomplete, you need to download the torrent version of the file. if you put the incomplete version of the installer in your torrent download directory it should start the torrent at around 70% and should finish in no time. this is what worked for me. if you don't have a torrent program google "utorrent".

This is a error message when the file is not downloaded completely, or is corrupted.
Its usually caused by downloading large files through a webbrowser.

Using the torrent, or a download manager, has error checking built in, and corrects any hiccups that happen in the transfer.
