Slippery Slope

(also known as absurd extrapolation, thin edge of the wedge, camel's nose, domino fallacy)

Description: When a relatively insignificant first event is suggested to lead to a more significant event, which in turn leads to a more significant event, and so on, until some ultimate, significant event is reached, where the connection of each event is not only unwarranted but with each step it becomes more and more improbable.  Many events are usually present in this fallacy, but only two are actually required -- usually connected by “the next thing you know...”

As Martin Neimoller said in his famous poem, "First They Came":

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
And that worked out fine, because there is no slippery slope.

- The End

Haaaaa!! funny.  You are comparing a political persuasion to a game.  In a game (Monopoly, Risk, World in Flames) the pieces can win the game.  In this game people who play artillery, and pay WG (Premium account etc) have been put at a disadvantage because developers want to let the masses (who play for !@#$ win easily).  My tier 2 SU18 pins for 24, my Tier 6 FV304 pins for 28.  Four tier difference going up against tier 8's with 28 pin.  If that ain't a nerf you are smoking the developer choice of pipe.

i have played arty and i hate arty.  with that being said arty was part of the game when i downloaded it. why should it be taken out just cause i do not like it? yes i got one shotted by arty i also do by a KW2 or O-I.  their are TD's that can one shot you from across the map! adapt to the situation.  go where arty can shot you...yes i know easier said then done.  take the fight somewhere else.  limit the number of arty aloud in a match to 2.

I see you're still new to the game... Come back to me in 3000 battles, I'd love to hear how radically your opinion has changed into that which tows the line of the masses.

That said, I laud you for at least trying it out and not just mindlessly fuming at something you don't know squat of.

I've been here since the very start of tanks, and as for arty, had many of these new players seen the changes since then, they might appreciate how castrated this role has become. Arty is essentially useless on its on, and only affords a team some advantages when other players augment this to the team dynamic. Otherwise, arty is nothing it used to be, years ago.

I used to be a solid TD only player.  A couple heavies and meds but mostly TD's.

I then decided to take up the challenge of playing random battles with 14 m*rons in a SPG.

At first it was rough until I learned people are creatures of HABIT and will almost always go to the same spots battle after battle.

I then began my reign of blind 1 shot terror. I adapted and overcame the limitations placed on me.

Now today I find out that I have to adapt and overcome yet again.

nothing really changes.

the second they remove it , the second they start [edited]about another thing my guess the light tanks and Jap heavies with naval guns and ARTILLERY CANNONS on them just watch , these are the people that rather sit in one spot and blame someone else for them sitting in one spot expecting nothing to happen

Not sure what the fuss is about, I would say about 80% of the battles I have been in so far have had 2 to 3 Artillery per side and they have been most effective.  I have also played the tier X US arty in the game and had a "Blast".  SO fear not, Arty is not dead, it's alive and well, doing just find.

+1

That role, which is imperative to very spirit of game play, has been castrated and game has become a mere perversion of its former self.

I make the analogy of an Ira Hayes as to what exactly has happened to a drunken WoT now being face down in a ditch, and we are where only hollow prayers are left for both these lost souls…Rest in peace, Amen!

I've always been a generally happy person, but when arty really, truly dies... then I'll be happier.

I don't hate hardly anything, but I do have a very strong dislike of arty.

Your hate lies (no pun) in an anti-team win spirit!

I believe in defeating the Socialists at the ballot box, that way they can't complain.

I vote against arty too, as is my right.

WG will do or not do whatever they want about arty in the end.

I certainly never claimed "arty is dead", quite the contrary, I said "I'm not happy because it didn't actually die".
