They are NOT cheating by exploiting "Flaws" in the maps, we call this community mountain goats, they dedicate their time to finding different/new positions on maps that are advantageous and hard to get to without a certain tank and teamwork.

They are not cheating, they have simply learned the game and how to play it, they are making the most of the game, it's not called cheating, it's called skill.

And yes, they PRACTICE is training rooms so they can use it in pubbie battles, it gives them good results! Just because you can't mountain goat but they can is no reason for WG to issue unreasonable Perma bans. The Whole goal of Mountain-goating is to give yourself an Unfair advantage over the enemy, you NEVER fight on fair terms with the enemy, it's called dying.

P.S Love that -68 Reputation, really makes me wonder :P

It is CHEATS just like the T-22 mission cheaters.

Unbalances the map big time, just b/c you can doesn't mean it is right.

It is called people or rather 1 clan in particular that didn't agree with why I had to say way back when you could negative that got their entire clan to come neg me which is why WG removed the neg, people were trolling it.

I am getting tired of it and it is become a major problem.

That is MAP glitching/cheaters!

Exploiting flaws in your maps that are allowing these players to get into the grayed out areas of the map.

This is giving them HUGE unfair advantages over other players.  (One very notable one is on Mountain Pass, where they can be on our side of the map and have a huge strategic advantage thus making that map incredibly unbalanced.

It is simply cheating and gaining an advantage over everyone by exploiting the maps and playing them in a way they were not meant to be played (making them extremely unbalanced)

This is all well and good for players want to have fun in TRAINING rooms but to be going into pubs and getting the unfair advantage should not be allowed whatsoever.

Time to start issuing bans, it is getting to the point nearly every match someone is off map (in gray area's) exploiting and farming.

And I'd like to see people that play arty perma banned.

Hypocrite much?

Sorry but before the physics engines update no-one that I recall ever played 'off the map'

Also I know 100% for a FACT that players didn't routinely do this as they are doing now (8 times yesterday alone and 2 times this morning already) having been here since the 2nd month of release I can say this with 100% certainty.

So yes once again you can say people trying to CHANGE what always has been, and what always has been is NOT having people play off the map so much that you see it multiple times daily.

That's like saying Mei's Ice Wall exploit isn't a cheat.

I haven't played OW but there's a huge difference.

Mountain Goating/Boosting: Gets you to an advantageous position that's still within the map; helps your team since you can cover more ground with your gunfire, but you can still die.

Ice Wall: Truly exploits map barriers to be invincible and grief the enemy team.

Until WarGamimg says it's a cheat or punishable, it is most definitely NOT a cheat.

Hell, gold league and other competitive matches feature boosting and other general positioning.  it's not discouraged at all.

Guess what? They're using the new physics to get to parts of the map they couldn't get to before! Those places were likely accessible before, but because of the bad physics people couldn't get there. Now they can.

Also, that's a freaking light tank. Of course it's gonna be able to climb up there. If it was a heavy like a Maus I'd be concerned.

Some day you might read the patch notes and think wow they did that intentionally.

Those places have existed for years now and have been accessible for people at different times and different ways.

The only way it would be a cheat glitch or hack is if it was beyond the red lines. Every thing else is fair game.

Yeah, those aren't cheats.  Try again.

They are most likely exploits or at best unintended  map features.  Nobody needs to be banned or punished for using them.  Most likely those spots will be blocked or cut off in some way.  Until then we live with it.

If they are intended parts of the game they are not very well thought out.  If becomes the ultimate position of WG on the issue then we've got yet another problem with map design to add to the list.

Most of them are relatively useless, some of them are hugely unbalanced.

No it was not unintended or an exploit.

They're essentially cheats, which is why they keep getting removed.

Until there's a policy change by WG, you're not going to be punished for mountain goating.

I'd imagine nearly all of these will be totally gone when the HD maps are implemented.

To be honest, the spot OP showed in his shots seemed like a no brainer spot for a light tank.

They told us in one of the patches that we could get to new places on the maps and that it would not always be easy or noticeable right away.  I am currently digging through patch notes while working to find it,  might be a while.

As someone already said, it is a map exploit; not exactly a cheat.

There are other map glitches.. or exploits if you make use of them.

Most are probably not what the designers intended.

In games like MOH, COD, etc. using map exploits could and did get people banned. WoT needs to decide if these exploits are a reasonable part of the game.

Is this some kind of huge problem I'm not aware of?  One game in a hundred I might see someone go somewhere unexpected, and 75% of the time the position is useless to the outcome of the game.  Is everyone else seeing something different?
