One of these mornings those of us who are facing new maps and wish there was a practice room without upper tiers shooting at us should think about one of us setting up a Team Training session

I've noticed there are often sessions running that certainly aren't team training, but they all seem to be top tier maps.

Seems like somebody posted a list of maps around here somewhere.   It's broken down into the groups by tier.   Seems like cycling through the next group up from T1-T2 maps for an hour would be worthwhile....     any thoughts?

All maps should be available to all tiers!

say what?

The suggestion was to run a session and cycle through the next set of maps that follow what newbies see first.    We see Mines and Mittengard first.   So cycling through Himmelsdorf, Ruinberg, Steppes or so, would be what we'd cycle through.

I believe if you get a friend you can start a new training room but I might be wrong about that.

Jeezus, you should start a thread about that.    This one isn't.

Lower tiers need "school" maps. On old days there were availability of Province and Malinovka maps for lower tiers.

It doesn't matter what maps new players play on because they are playing other low tier players. If all maps are available, they'll be more prepared when moving up in tiers.

You're on the right track, you can learn a lot by spending time in training rooms learning the maps. the good news for is that It only takes 2 people to start a training room, one for each side.

All you need is one single friend, you can start the room and drive around the map learning and teaching each other things to your heart's content. The training room will eventually time out, but all you do it start it again and continue. You don't even need a high tier tank, just take one of your fastest tanks and the two of you can drive all over the map, looking at hills, looking at depressions, looking for good bushed, figuring out where you can spot each other and where you can't.

If you don't want to join one of the training clans, just find a friend and start learning the maps together.

Do you two realize this thread is about running a session that would employ the first few maps newbies see after Mines and Mittenguard?

The subject of this thread is about newbies getting exposure to maps they're just seeing in battle.   They would be able to familiarize themselves with the layouts and the time to do it, and it wouldn't be while being shot at.

If you want to use the maps that come after Mittengard, Mines and Himmelsdorf, then you would be looking for:

Prokhorovka

Malinovka

Ruinberg

Ensk (I think) and

Airfield

All of these maps are relatively small and can be either very fast or camp/slug fests that last almost to end of match.  I am pretty sure that all those maps are available in the training rooms and there may be more that you can enter.  I didn't know there was a 'restriction' on the tiers in maps in the Training Rooms other than what the room creator sets when the room is set up -- or so I believe.

Well, I just started the room creation process for Training Rooms and there was no indication that I had a tier restriction and ALL the maps you would play in ANY tier seem to be readily available.  So the maps I listed above are probably good starters.  That said, if you go to the wiki, it should detail you the maps you will begin to see at what tiers.

GL, HF & HSYBF

Why thank you for that info.    I have a copy of a list that divides the maps according to tiers.   It's actually not really correct with the maps to tiers, but that's irrelevant really.    It does seem to have them in the order I remember seeing them.   And that doesn't really matter much either.    I figured if anyone is interested, they would know which ones they'd like to get into for a look around.     we'll see if there is any interest first.
