Earn it. If you were good enough to get 5, you're good enough to get the 6th. If you've got to ask for it, you're not good enough and don't deserve it. And for someone to TK over it, I'd send the replay in and get then both a ban along with reporting them to their clan. Most clans don't want to be represented by team killing cretins

Agree. But that doesn't mean that I won't sometimes help a guy out.

I do once in awhile if he has bailed me out or saved the game - but not if he begs for it.

Necro thread? Cool.

@topic:

You don't. They have to earn it. Take kills where you can get them.

Question for the people who think these kinds of awards should be given away as "good effort" trophies: do you think that should be done for other medals too?

Should people use their own bodies to shield a teammate at the end of a game and prevent his death so he can get a Steel Wall?

Should people hold fire on tanks they're brawling with, so that TDs sitting 300m behind them can get their Tank Sniper badges?

How about BIA?  If you see a platoon with 5 combined kills, should you hold fire so they can get BIA?

This whole line of reasoning is ridiculous.

you shouldn't. I wouldn't. and I wouldn't expect you to nor demand it. but if you try to prevent me  from taking "your" kill or something stupid like that I will hunt you for the next 1000 games I see you in. I always live up to my promises too

This is a team game.  Being a good teammate and setting up others to succeed isn't the worst thing in the world.  But hey, screw them, as long as you get yours, right?

I don't disagree with your intent, but I would say that your method is questionable ... IMHO, if you want to set up others to succeed ... you don't give them the fish ... you encourage them to learn how to fish for themselves ... or even better, you set the example and teach them (if the situation and time warrants).

this is a "team" game and the most you can hope for is your team to not get in your way.

He had 7k spotting, in an IS-7, on Prok.  He was a Bassmaster that game.

.... if someone goes for the gold in the olympics, do you 'give' them the gold because they desire it ... despite the fact that they earned a silver in reality?  No.  You encourage them for the next competition.
