Well I don't know... seems I can still farm damage off them, but in the after-action report I just checked, the damage doesn't seem to count?

Not sure if this is a bug or working as intended?

Once they're dead you don't get credit for the damage.

a dead tank doesn't count towards dmg dealt or kill count.

You don't get damage, but do they still have to pay for repairs if you kill their tank?

If you hit them before they drown out then you will get damage and kills. After they have succumbed to the waters, then it doesn't do you any good. Pretty sure that is how it works.

My take on it was you could farm damage as long as they were not dead and the counter had not reached zero yet. Guess we are wrong on this?

U can shoot and farm but it doesn't get counted in actual after game scoring... In game counter registers it as damage though.

So it's useless.

If I'm the President you certainly won't be the 'Allied General', OP, not when you keep shooting a dead tank.

I'd make sure you were in/on the front line.

Using common sense, I had assumed that you would be able to farm, (as the GUI claims so)... unfortunately, a case of buggy code and being lied too.

I had also assumed WoT finally had a stroke of genius and allowed us to farm drowned tanks as a PENALTY to those doing this low tactic... I thought great, finally some improvement.

I should have known...

Thought for a moment finally a solution was found... oh well.... May have to wait 3 years for that to finally work right.

So basically, don't waste your ammo... the interface LIES to you.

Only drowned tanks I shoot are teammates who intentionally drown themselves in order to make their repair bill larger.

No.

Shooting a dead tank, whether friendly or enemy, regardless of how the tank died, does not affect you in any way. Shooting a tank that drowned is no different from shooting any other dead tank on the battlefield, you don't get any credit or penalties for doing so.

No, you are right about that.

If the counter has not yet reached zero, the tank is not dead yet. Any damage that you do to the tank will count both in battle and the after-battle report. If you shoot them once the counter has reached zero, and the tank is now officially dead, nothing else that you do to it matters or counts.

I think all remaining HP of drowned person should go to the one who drowns him.

I still wish they'd let you farm damage as a penalty to the drowned player for such poor sportsmanship.

Got it - shoot drowning tanks - yes, shoot drowned tanks - no.

Once a tank is drowned it already has a MAXIMUM repair bill. If you shoot it, not only do you not cost them any more credits but since you get no credit for damage done to them, you are costing yourself credits since you have to replace the ammo you fired. Just leave them be and shoot the tanks that are still moving.

I think shooting drowned tanks should still count.

In fact, it should add repair price on top of drowned price so arty gets punished for drowning.

This is asking for common-sense... a virtue WoT does not comprehend.

In fact, they should still ADD A KILL to whoever shoots the last HP point on a DROWNED TANK. There, this will fix most of the poor sportsmanship issues.

Sure, some scrubs will still try to drown and hoping the game ends before they lose their last HP... but it is still a good alternative to the broken system in place now.

I could be way wrong on this point but I believe I read once that shooting doesn't give any XP but...

Drowning a tank only kills the crew.

If you drown at the beginning of a match, your crew is dead but your tank has taken no damage to modules or hit points...

If you damage a drown tank, I believe you get credit for the module & HP damage you do, in the after battle report but you do not get any XP/credits because the tank was already dead....

So shooting a drowned tank will cause the owner to suffer more repair costs [for module/hp damage] than if he takes no damage at all and only drowns.

Again, I'm not certain but I think this is how I remember reading it explained....
