Hi there,

 

In preparing for 1.10, I saw this tonight. I had thought this was taken care of last week, so sorry it was never fixed. I fixed it with the commit: https://github.com/W...9a6e65e77d5ffb7

 

Normally, there's two other people on the team who take care of this but one is on vacation. I went through the steps to do it myself and verified that it's fixed.

 

Additionally I will make sure it's fixed for 1.10. (I have confidence WG will break it)

Since the new patch went live today, I'll keep an eye on this topic to check when the modpack is updated and give it another go.

assuming WG doesn't give any more patches, i'd say late this week.

 

Rumor has it there's a micropatch on the way later this week, so that would extend the release a couple of days.

 

The team has been very active in the database's repo and encourage you to try the beta database

Well we tried to have something ready for Sunday, but:

 

- WG released a patch that night

- Some team members have become less active or inactive and we are currently understaffed

 

Because of that, we are down-sizing the database and will try again for next weekend. If you mod gets moved, I'm sorry but there's not much I can do. It's simply too much work and we need more people to maintain a project this large.

 

If you wish to help we are actively seeking volunteers.

Just this morning I organized the team to try out the latest development build tonight. We'll be platooning with different configurations to see how stable it is.

IF we don't have any issues, then we will publish with the developer build of xvm. That way you have our certification that we tested it to the best of our ability to ensure it works.

 

The reason we take this cautious approach is because back on OMC nothing made me more sad then to see it was updated, and get a crash because they were using untested developer builds in a race to be the first up to date.

How do you test, random battles, or some other method? It might prove interesting to watch. Twitch?

Thank you everyone for patiently waiting while we struggled to get this update published, despite being down 1-2 people the entire time, and WG releasing 2 micropatches after the fact!

NOTE: This is initial support. We plan on making a few final changes later, but this is enough for now.

KNOWN ISSUES:
- Using a developer version of XVM. You may experience extra warnings or errors in your logs. We ran a night of tests and nothing seems to be game-breaking.
- Contour icons will not mirror in all places currently with xvm, in some configurations. This is an XVM related issue and there " s nothing we can do about it until a stable release of XVM is published.

Announcement:

As stated last week, the team came to the difficult realization that while the database has grown, the team has not been able to grow in pace with it. Therefore, we needed to reduce the size of the database, because it is too much work to ask volunteers to maintain.

 

With the 1.10 update, we used the user-submitted install statistics (assuming you didn't turn it off in the application) to determine which mods were being used the most, and which were not. With that information, we reduced the database size by about 15-20%.

 

For the next 2 weeks, if you were effected by the downsize (i.e. your mod or configuration was removed) and would like it restored, please inform someone on the team and we will gladly put the package back. After that, the package will be officially removed.

- Added a unit tests project to the code base solution. This will allow us to unit test individual software features and help catch bugs in the application before they get released to beta.
- Lots of refactoring and code re-organization to match what is more common in c# projects. Big thanks to 'hrobohboy' for joining the application development team and taking on code cleanup and testing frameworks.
- The algorithm for modifying atlas image data was re-written and saw a 96% time reduction. The entire time of atlas creation has been reduced by about 15-25%, depending on your system configuration.
- Added a check to ensure the user has the .NET Framework version 4.8 or later installed. If not the user is prompted to download the latest .NET Framework.
- Re-worked the shortcut code to use one imported COM reference. Allows us to remove the COM reference for `IWshRuntimeLibrary`
- Modified build script to copy nuget packages to a custom location to be embedded into the application. This means that when a nuget package is updated, the update is automatically included into the next application build.
- Updated several of our 3rd party APIs, including `DotNetZip`, `TexImpNet`, and `HtmlAgilitypack`
- Renamed `DatabaseUpdater` to `ModpackToolbox`
  -  Added feature to export translations to a tab-delimited csv file, with text escaped
- Removed setting to save database as legacy in the editor. No one uses it
- Added several utility methods to the `Translations` class
