I would like to preface this by stating this tank skins update was started over 10 days ago. The team as a whole (myself included) put in about 30 hours for this update. We had to:

 - Check for mod updates

 - Convert them to wotmod, if not done already

 - Log changes for future reference

 - Individually test each mod by hand in a replay to check that it works (there's over 50 of these)

Big shout-out to the team for making this happen :)

This is some of the sketchiest [edited]. I understand the name is for an artistic license but look at some of the mod names and options.
And also, please don't act like having a searchable installer for mods is some groundbreaking thing. This is a windows form, it's not searching databases or anything, its searching itself. Its not as impressive as say, having a modloader for the game where you can search for mods in the game to enable and disable. That'd be impressive, so boom free idea for you.

Im nto even gonna look at these mods though, they look too sketchy and too risky.

Relhax is a fully legal modpack. Every mod in it is legal.

As for a search bar, this is the ONLY modpack with one as far as im aware. This is due to us using our own custom designed and programmed program rather than inno setup.

Hi there,

I can see based on your post here:

http://forum.worldof...anagement-tool/

Which leads to:

https://github.com/a...ster/Program.cs

That you seem to be new to the modding community. Let me be the first to welcome you :)

Like Relhax, I can see based on your github link that you created a C# program. I've been programming in C# for about 7 years. If you would like, I can offer you some help with writing your console application. I've found about 15 things that can be improved in the first file I looked at, and I'd be more then willing to share my knowledge with you.

If you think that some of the mod names and options are "sketchy", then I wish you luck with finding them in any other modpack, other mods at all. These mods are the same that are used in most other modpacks. I can assure you that my database team vets these mods for legality and compliance with the WG fair play policy.

Can you find a modpack that does have a searchbar? I can help you with this. Last I checked these don't:

- Aslain

- Buddyx69

- OldSkool

- Protanki

- Solo

- Webium

- Jove

- XVM modpack

- Moddog

- HAWG

- Shurabb

- RadianSLO

If you know of any other modpacks that have a searchbar that can navigate you to the mod in a list then let me know.

It's actually searching a serialized XML database. (yes, XML is a database language, you can read about it here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XML

https://en.wikipedia...i/XML_database

We as a team keep the database under source control here:

https://github.com/W...ModpackDatabase

This way we can have multiple people able to work on it, while keeping it open source and human readable. The database gets parsed into the c# list structure of corresponding class objects which is then presented to the user in a UI. In some cases, the list database is queried using what's called Language Integrated Queries (similar syntax to SQL database queries):

https://docs.microso...to-linq-queries

So in a sense, if the database is loaded into the application, it is searching itself :)

Yes, Relhax V1 is, but have you not read the announcement of Relhax V2? It is using some of the best technologies from Microsoft, including Windows Presentation Foundation UI and .NET frameowrk 4.6.2. I would recommend using these for your project instead of a Console UI and .NET 4.5.2. Over the past 13 months I have been re-writing the application from scratch while incorporating newer technologies, including the Task based Asynchronous programming model:

https://docs.microso...ous-pattern-tap

https://docs.microso...ous-programming

Two things here:

1. That's not how many mods work. The WoT mods system works on a file replacement bases (with the exception of mod scripts). There are several types of mods. Graphics textures, 2d images, and audio mods to name a few. These are loaded into the game as part of it's startup routine. Scripts, however, are python files that are executed on client load.

2. There's no need to re-invent the wheel here. Something similar has already been done.

I encourage you to take a look at these mods and see whats out there. The community has created a lot of wonderful projects, some of which are incorporated into the gameitself in popular demand.

Also, I would strongly recommend researching a topic before you aggressively post attacks against it :)

no 1.6.0.2 support yet. We're still updating and testing mods. It looks as though Wargaming decided that a micropatch is the perfect time to change a good portion of their scripts. Also XVM isn't up to date yet

Spoiler

as always, you can use the beta database while you wait.

Should be no longer then a couple days.

Application version 0.29.0.10 (2019-08-25)
https://www.virustot...cddfd/detection
- Fixed bug in editor and selection list where user could select a null package.
- Added check in editor to verify package has zip file extension. This involved the UI and was harder then you think.
- Added ability in editor to allow specification of "save as" to save database as legacy or 1.1 database format. "save" is still legacy.
- Re-worked system for making copies of packages based on class type.
- Fixed editor bug of uploaded zip filenames not being applied
- Fixed issues with user mod selection

Update on 1.6.0.3 status:

Everything seems to be ready except for xvm. We're waiting for an official release.

As usual, you can use the beta database if you don't use XVM, or want to use their nightly anyways.
