Use experience boosters. They're on top left corner, near the 'menu' gear icon. Click on your name, click on the + icon, and activate an 'Experience Booster'. They vary in effect and time, so take whichever one suits you.

Stay alive and deal damage, most people tend to overlook that at low tiers.

And don't rely on armour; it's only there if you get hit, don't get hit in the first place.

Both regular damage and assistance damage will earn you extra XP.

You earn more XP by:

  • Shooting at vehicles of a higher Tier than you
  • Doing damage and immobilizing vehicles with the same shot (Regular damage + assisted)
  • Killing the tank you were shooting at (Bonus XP for kills)

You earn smaller amounts of XP when you:

  • Are shooting at tanks lower Tier than you
  • Are only shooting vehicles which allies are spotting for you (If you're shooting at a tank that an ally spotted for you, one which you could not see yourself, you share half the XP with the ally doing the spotting)

Missions, XP boosters and the sort can all contribute towards your XP totals as well.

There's also a small bonus to XP when you're in a Platoon of a vehicle the same Tier as you.

All the above, and play only tanks that you're good at. Don't try to force it with tanks that are giving you trouble. Come back to them later when you're not trying to build up credits and XP. Use consumables and premium ammo when you need it, it's there to help you win.

The reverse is also true, if you are spotting targets for your team, you get half the XP their damage generates.

The Wiki Link: http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Battle_Mechanics#Tank_Experience_and_Credits

Don't put crews with the wrong specialization into tanks.  A Russian KV-1 crew loses 50% of the experience earned in a Russian non-Heavy premium, or in a non-premium Russian Heavy (besides the KV-1), and 75% in a non-premium, non-Heavy Russian.

e.g. run your KV-1 crew in a KV-1, 100% XP, in a Church 3: 100% XP, in your KV-1S: 50% XP, in your Rudy: 50% XP, in your T-34: 25% XP

The link: http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Crew#Bonuses_and_Penalties

Block Quote

  • Vehicle Competence Penalty on Experience to Increase Training Level: A tanker crewing a vehicle that he is has no Vehicle Competence in will earn less experience from each battle to be applied to increasing his Training Level.
  • In a new vehicle of the same Type as that in which he has his Vehicle Competence, there is no Penalty if the new vehicle is a premium vehicle.
  • In a vehicle of a different Type as that in which he has his Vehicle Competence, the crew member would earn 50% less experience per battle if the new vehicle is a premium vehicle.
  • In a new non-premium vehicle of the same Type as that in which he has his Vehicle Competence, a Penalty will apply and the crewman would earn 50% less experience per battle than he normally would.
  • In a new non-premium vehicle of a different Type as that in which he has his Vehicle Competence, a Penalty will apply and the crewman would earn 75% less experience per battle than he normally would.

while this is all true, you should also know the limitations of your tanks gun, and how to contribute when you are low tier

Hit higher tiers. It gives you more xp.

Close battle give you more xp compared to sniping but it is harder and you need a brawling tonk.

Assist damage also handy by spotting and tracking.

No Yao, I am not a troll.  I can not help it if WoT does not post my stats correctly.  I have been here for over a month almost every night.  If you know how to get WoT

to get this issue resolved, I would be most grateful.

Sincerely,

Perry

Say you kill 3, spot 4, get 5 penetrations, and track 5 while teammates pour in hot metal.

If we win, how much XP do I earn- living vs dying???

Small improvements:

1. Given the choice, deal damage to the equal or higher tier reds (rather than lower tier).

2. Be at the front, spot your own reds and then deal damage to them (rather than firing upon reds, spotted by your teammates).
