I went Hetzer and then StuG III G. A lot of people like the derp gun on the Hetzer, but I went with the other one and had good luck with it.

Same, I'm at the JPZIV so far and I've had fun throughout the line (although since that was my first line, my stats suck on the Hetzer and Stug), a nice feature of the JPZIV is that it has slightly better frontal armor than the StuG enabling it to get a bit closer and fully utilize the powerful 88mm gun.

Three of my favorite tanks in the game have been the tier 4,5 and 6 Russian TDs...the SU-85B, the SU-85 and the SU-100. All three are very good, and after that the line breaks into two, as you already know....the 268 line has the ISU-152 and the Object 704...both with very good high alpha guns. If you play the SU-100 at tier 6 with the 122 mm gun, then you will be getting a good training for the ISU-152 and the 704 as all three feature very high alpha for their tiers, but long reload times.  I always feel that playing the SU-100 with the 122 is like being in a mini ISU...and the ISU-152 with its massive 750 alpha at tier 8 is undoubtedly one of the premier tanks in the game. I would continue with the Russians if I were you, but branch out into other lines as well.

Always liked the Soviet TDs. Beginning with the SU-76M and its swell 57mm ZiS-2. Nice to have a T-VI gun on a T-III tank.

All of the Soviet TDs have been fun, except the SU- 100M1. Its a turd. Starts with a T-VII gun, after a lot of upgrading you get another T-VII gun that does nothing more than a few rounds per minute better than the stock stick, no greater pen or damage. Its the only Soviet TD under T-X that doesn't have an available gun that's at least 1 tier higher. Its also got no gun depression at all and poor mobility in general, abysmal with the stock engine. Show it a hill and it almost goes into Park. Its like the M3Lee of Soviet TDs.

Swiss line was my favorite grind.. Tier II through VII are ok but once you get the tier VIII its just a fun grind to the 103B which if played right is devastating. If you chose this line. Make sure you have camo trained first, use binoculars so you can spot for yourself. This is a true tank destroyer/Snipe tank line. If you get caught in a close quarters fight dont expect to survive.
