It has been about a month since the new version of Strongholds was introduced. We would like to know what you think of it so far - what do you like, what do you dislike, what can be improved.

everyone plays 6

sometimes tier 8.  but it definitely feels like tier 10 and 8 are.....not popular at all.   hard to get a match even during prime time.

-maybe make it 10 person or 7 so people can get games easier?

-maybe screw with the income so people are encouraged to play

-maybe nerf Defender so 80% of teams don't use it or IS-3.   (at this point....i miss the teams of IS-3s....easier to fight than the defender OP armors.  load gold or lose)

 

also no variety in the games.  why not toss some encounter, or assault, or that mode in League in,  to add some variety other than grind.

 

more map variety?

maybe make it so the cap points have multiple areas they can be in so it isn't the same game after game.

I gave up on strongholds because very few clans will recruit players for such things unless they have XVM installed and have a super high personal rating and unicum stats.

Skirmishes:

- Tier 8 skirmishes definitely need to be able to have 5 legionaries like the tier 6's, i feel like there is more interest in tier 8's than is being catered for due to the difficulty to assemble teams.

- Also i find the skilled matchmaker frustrating most times as we can often end up waiting in the range of 2-4min for each battle.

- I feel like the airstrikes are a bit unnecessary especially at tier 6 although i have not seen many camp strats since the changes

 

Advances:

I really like the new advances mode, no clan penalty for losing really makes the games more enjoyable and enhances the game rather than feeling like something you have to do to keep playing clan wars.

Instead of 3 pm cst open them up at like 12 even if it's just the weekends. Make tier 8 be 8 players and tier 10 10 -12.

For Advances:  can we have the maps rotate more often?  fighting R-7 every night on Fjords is getting a bit boring.

My 2 main problems

Skilled mm: long queue times and facing the same team every other match is boring 

Strikes:Y tho being able to delete the entirety of a single tier 8 is actually stupid

My clan is an average clan, 6-8k personal rating somewhere around 52% w/r and there is a nice variety for us on most things. How ever of the many advances we have done we have only ever had one battle near 50% chance to win.

 

The lack of penalty for going past tier 4 is awesome, way more people interested in the game modes then before, i think the arty strike is unnecessary for tier 6. I would also like to see more legionaries for tier 8. i have many friends from other clans i would like to invite but the lack of room hurts, and after a certain point tier 6 is just copy pasta.

You sound like someone who wants competitive game modes decide by button clicking and RNG, instead of skill and teamwork.

Not opening strongholds until 4pm eastern is decreasing an already small player base for that mode. 

Not all your players are available to play during prime time.

Add encounter battles for variation would be really really cool. Remove arty strikes. Also, I don't understand why personal buffs do not work in Strongholds??? I mean you cut the time to play them and you limit the buffs, it seems like you are trying to make it harder and harder to make lots of silver, almost like you want players to be buying it from the premium shop.......... xD

I like almost everything except for a few tweeks

 

1. A timeline style log of the activities in the stronghold

2. Keep arty and air strikes, there is way too much camping in pub matches to have even more camping in skirmishes

3. Can we also have one central lobby for all legionnaires who want to join and don't care which team they join rather than jumping from one detachment to the next trying to get picked?

4. Tier 8 and Tier 10 need to allow for more legionnaires

5. I think there needs to be some thought on how to organize 8 and 10s.  Basically because it's more than 7 players it takes forever to get people into TS, into game, into stronghold and finally to pick a freakin tank.  So perhaps like tournaments some sort of clan wide announcement throughout the night.  I.e. tier 8 skirmish in 1 hour, tier 8 skirmish in 30min tier 8 skirmish in 2min.  where an officer of a clan could set up the time?  Especially for tier 10 advancements even with the lead up time everyone one seams to be scrambling to get enough people and in the right tanks in time.  And because of the curfew and testing sometimes I forget to even look for an advancement.

6. FIX THE LAG (which is much worse then in pub matches!)

Maps are far and away the biggest problem:

 

1)  Breaking camps on advances on Ruinberg, Mountain Pass, HImmels, etc. is exceedingly difficult in 10 minutes.  Teams that have campy maps on defense have a marked advantage over teams with open maps on defense.

2)  Some of the maps on T6 just need to be removed entirely. Mountain Pass first and foremost.  Please make maps appropriate for tiers.

3)  Not knowing the first match map in an advance causes very unbalanced battles or boring battles.  Please let the opening map be known.  Even better look at allowing a vote by the two clans on maps by giving them a number of maps to choose from and allowing them to strike maps they don't want to play similar to how Gold league chooses.  Choose the map from the options left after some maps are removed.

 

For SHs they seem fine T6/T8 except for wait times.  The 'matchmaking' needs to be tweeked to speed it up.   Advances seem ok although there needs to be some awareness in the system of recent matchmaking and some movement down a tier or up a tier based on previous results. IE. if you face teams that are rated 50-100 places higher than your clan 2 times in a row MM should be looking at something lower than your CR on match 3.

 

Anyone complaining about strikes obviously doesn't see enough camps. Do not remove airstrike unless you adjust maps particularly with the incoming damage nerf on artillery which will make it completely incapable of breaking good camps in 10 minutes.  Frankly strikes don't help enough there either.

 

Dealing with strikes is pretty easy in advances.  The only time they're a problem is when my tanks fail to spread out and bunch up way too much.

 

For the most part advances are working.  However the food chain is going to die if there isn't enough incentive for clans to join.  Please keep in mind that because the NA population is much smaller than the EU/RU clusters there needs to be more incentive for clans to play as the disparity between skills is much more prevalent and matchmaker is much less precise.  Add whatever incentive you can to keep that food chain healthy.
