I played some more battles on the test server today.  On Sandbox, I complained that arty was too accurate, had to low of an aim time, and too large of a splash.

Its the same way on the test server.  Arty was buffed too much and its completely annoying.

These were my results on the test server today playing the T92 and Obj 261

T92

5 shots fired 5 hits

3 shots fired 3 hits

3 shots fired 3 hits

4 shots fired 4 hits

Obj 261

5 shots fired 5 hits

6 shots fired 5 hits (the last shot was at a moving Obj 140 that was circling me at the end of the battle and I missed.)

A 96% hit rate in arty?  Yes that's not too accurate or broken at all.  What were you thinking Wargaming?  I guess you don't listen to Sandbox feedback when players say the SPG changes were a buff.

No one believes me when I say this is a buff, I'll be enjoying their tears tomorrow.

Anyone know if artillery earns normal EXP after this update?

The whole time on Sandbox I said its a buff to SPGs and Wargaming didn't address the other issues with arty.  Nobody listened.  However that's typical Wargaming.

At least the changes are going in the right direction. Give it some time, the results haven't kicked in with the actual server yet.

Is that direct hit and/or splash included?

They were all direct hits including hits on moving vehicles.

and how many tanks did you 1 shot?

noticed you didn't indicate the damage done by each of those shots.

No one shots form full health, but I killed multiple tanks that had ~600 HP or less.

I closed the test server client so I can't say what the damage per shot was.  I had top damage in several battles.

"Arty is too over powered" "Arty needs removed" "Arty shouldn't be able to one shot tanks" "Arty is ineffective to the game" and the list went on and on and on and on....

And the crying whine post are already starting and the patch is not even out yet...

I can't wait to come to the forums tomorrow and read all the arty whine threads... I feel sorry for you mods in this forum...I hope you bring your lunch with you tomorrow - it's gonna be a long day

Buff and a re-balance. This puts a much needed chunk of control in the hands of arty players. It greatly limited their ability to deal damage but has now granted them a new means of holding off the enemy (stun effect) You can hit light tanks moving at full speed if you are skilled enough and still couldn't one shot them with a pen. Yeah, get hit with arty in a light tonight and see what happens. The reload has been increased on some tanks however they're in no way going to out dpm anything they'll be shooting at. I for one can't contain how excited I am for these changes. WOT actually feels like a complete game now. Which when it came to arty and LTs it never did. It was too dependent on bad RNG as a measuring tool rather than the relevance of a vehicle with reasonable tactics while playing it. In the case of arty that has changed. And in the case of light tanks you can actively help your team without taking stupid risks with mostly RNG and the enemy's skill being the deciding factor of whether or not it is a GG. Now they can choose if they still want to be fools or at least try to harass slower enemies without every single shenanigan happening. Kinda like what the physics and handbrake did for lights. Remember that nightmare people?

So clearly if the whine threads are still present, the problem hasn't been fixed...

The problem will never be fixed. There will always be whiners. There's too many controversial point of views about arty.

Problem is that arty is a flawed mechanic and should be removed. But doing so would make the game WoT totally different, could be better or worse. I would argue it would be worse because there's many players who invested a lot of money and time into grinding for arty. After all, WG is a business. At the end of the balance sheet, as long as that profit is rolling in, there's no point in changing something that's not really "broken" in terms of money making. No business wants to suddenly lose profits so as to appease the mass of customers as much as possible.

I guess the goal was to remove one-shots, and it worked.

WG said nothing about nerfs/buffs.

As I said.  9.18 looks like Arty will be more annoying than ever.

Artillery went from being the guy that kills you with a sword through your heart when you're back is turned.  To the guy throwing a rock at the back of your shoulder hurting your ability to lift you sword, but repeatedly without killing you, until eventually something does break.

9.18 arty I predicted will cause a new level of Arty rage of the likes we've never seen. As they will be more annoying then ever to none arty players.

It's another $$$$$ plan by Warshi....I mean Wargaming. Arty gets buffed....will attract the stupid arty masses.....Wargaming puts out premium arties............

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

And the rest of us still gets no new maps.....RNG is horrible.....MM still crap.....

But don't worry.....we will surely get new editions of all premium tanks........all premium tanks in RUSSKY RED!

... and with enough complaint, then WG has the option to do what they said ... remove arties from the game ... this situational maneuvering room is genius, best of all, they will have the high ground in the form of trying "to the end" to make it work.

Or they could just remove the arty whiners and really improve the game. :child:
