I'm seeing a ton of Paris tonight.  IMO, this map should be removed.

Map Rotation....


Wouldn't an "easier" solution be for you all to simply put the Maps in a particular order,

and then every "3 Minutes" that goes by the map changes,

and during that 3 Minutes time period, the Server has everyone play the same Map?


This would ensure nobody plays the same map over again until many games later depending on how many maps you have.

They would however if they die in that first 3 min's, or you could do 2 mins, whatever.

Or even better, keep the 3 min's because you should increase the HP of all tanks of the game so we can play the game some before dying no matter skill level, the biggest complaint of the game, preferably DOUBLE to start with.

Hey Q Map rotation has been really good. I just played 16 battles. I had no back to back same maps and I did not even have a repeat until battle number 14. So yeah working great! :medal:​. Jumping around in class and tier.

My congrats to the Wot team who worked on this update. As for the map rotation being the topic here I played enough matches today as to form an opinion and I must say I liked the results. No repeated maps as I remember.

Maps maps maps.  We need more maps.  It's the same thing over and over and over and over.  This is what is killing this game.  Everyone knows their specific spot for each map for each vehicle they have.  It's incredibly repetitious.  After 6 years, we should have over 100 random maps to play on.

Maps are rotated so much more consistently now. I never got the feeling I had recently played a map, so definitely a big improvement! Well done, WG! :)

since I haven't noticed a large repeat of the same map, it must be working great. i have only had one repeat of a map, but i was in a different tank, and tier. one suggestion though, new maps, or changes to existing maps, why? with these new changes, we need new maps to play them on. well developed structed maps, and yes, with more trees and bushes. the gameplay has now changed, and these present maps don't do justice to this update. even adding more trees and bushes back into the existing maps would help. it's unfair to not have cover as in trees and bushes for the tanks now, with the stun effect in place. can't have heavies just sitting in the open, nor not have them available cover. this goes for all tanks.

Out of 20 games yesterday, the Map rotation was EXCELLENT!

No repeats and no back to back

Way to go

I don't believe so, however I don't see any new maps either.


How often did you see a map you had played on recently?

If you played for an hour straight, you would see the same maps at least once each, because there aren't a huge amount to begin with.

lets see I installed "MapRotation v 0.3" to track which maps I am seeing.

in 5 battles today it is 2- Murovanka, 2- cliffs, and 1 Stalingrad.

I usually track these out to 100 battles and I find there are maps that I get 15-20% (murovanka,fiery salient) of the time while the rest are under 5%.

Map rotation is greatly improved. I think this part of the patch is a success.

I haven't noticed any change. The only way to really improve map rotation would be to actually start introducing new maps, and lots of them! We used to get 2, even 3 new maps per update, and it was always super exciting! 


Also, bring back Dragon Ridge, Pearl River, and all the other great old maps that should never have been removed.

^ this. Go read the amount of negative posts vs the amount of 'praise', then look at the number of upvotes for and against the update. The majority in fact seem to be firmly in the "update is rubbish" section of the community.

Map rotation was never an issue for me. It was mainly a perception issue anyway IMO.

You hate a map? Then you'll notice it everytime you get deployed on it.

You like a map, you'd probably enjoy it if you had it time after time.


Fact is I ran a map tracking mod for well over a month and rarely had any map appear more than 2 or maybe 3 times in 30 - 50 games a day. I used a mod to avoid my perception bias. It proved to me there was no issue with map rotation.

I like that a single Map is not repeating so much, i think I play on more maps in a session than before
But the rotation still have the tendency to stack similar although not the same maps as before, the first 2 days was almost completely towns, maybe dividing the maps in groups ( like open-mixed-city) and rotating them equally in a session
And a side question - are Stalingrad and Kharkov in normal rotation now, I have seen them allot more since the patch but as I remember they were supposed to be rare until fixed

I feel map rotation is sooo much better.  more variety (of the maps in existence anyway), and don't recall any back-to-back except for the silly prok/fiery salient variations.  Why are there two of those anyway?  Overall, much better IMO.

Map rotation is a minor issue compared to the rest of patch 9.18 (good and bad).

The new map rotation seems to be working, I have not seen the same maps over and over.

Map rotation has definitely been fixed.  Maybe not Encounter and Assault.  They are too rare for something that you have the option of turning off anyway.


also more maps would be the absolute best thing that could come to the game

I read something about MM checking the last 10 maps played and choosing a map that doesn't match any of those.  I wanted to share that the MM does seem better however I have seen several battles where the map was repeated within the 10 battle range, usually 8-9 battles prior which is about one hour of game time.
