I have a new 2017 high end MacBook pro with solid state HD, fully patched.  I am not using any mods, just the native WoT client.

  • Launch app from Finder
  • Launch app from Start button.
  • Confirm authentication, launch client to play game.
  • Client hangs during sync stages

Will perform a force quit.  Attempt to relaunch after a 5 minute wait, receive a warning that the client is running.  Reboot.

  • Launch app from finder
  • Run client check from "Settings", no errors presented
  • Select "Safe Mode", and start the game.
  • Perform authentication, sometimes games hangs, sometimes not.

Have repeated the steps to select "Reset Graphics" with the same results.

Note:  World of Warships runs fine.

When using my 2nd account, johngsteel@live.com for WoT, it launches normally.

If you need any dump files, please guide me to get them on a Mac.  With my old WIndows 10 machine, easy to find, but Mac's are new to me...

By the way, thanks to the developers for supporting the Mac platform!

Regards,

I don't know Mac but I do know that I had the same problem with my Windows machine.  Turns out to be my graphics card update # so you might want to submit a ticket to WG and see what they can do to help.

Open terminal(should be under utilities) and type in

ps ax | grep World

It should come up with WoT processes that aren't closing by themselves and need to be manually killed.

kill -9 (insert process number)

Use that command to kill a good amount of the process, usually it takes me 2/3 tries to hit something critical so I can relaunch.

If this doesn't help then idk what to do, but GL

tks, will try that in a bit.  That should clear the processes that did not cleanly exit.  As stated, learning the Mac.  Used to be a SysAdmin, retired, on WIndows, UNIX, Linux, Cisco, etc....  So I can follow guidance.  NEver thought about a terminal window and using the kill -9.

After a complete shutdown, then a boot, problem repeats.  Still inconsistant access to my johngsteel@yahoo.com account, but no problems with my johngsteel@live.com account.  That is the strange issue.  Something in a local file for that yahoo.com account must be corrupt or something...

It is Mothers day tomorrow, and if I do not focus on my wife of 32 years, I will be 100% dead meat....

If the rank shown is for the number of Forum posts made, then I understand.

I started out as a Private but I got out as a Chief Warrant officer.....

It appears that you are running the native game in either an emulator or MS Windows compatibility layer as there is no [Start] button in OS X/macOS.

I looked at the WoT Mac Wrapper and there is no [Start] button - only [PLAY] once the wrapper loads.

If so, what are you using?

Sorry for the long delay in my response.  It is a happy camper now.  The following update somehow repaired the problem.

If you have not already done so I recommend that you download and install the Studly Utility from dstud208.

It is a native OS X/macOS app that automates many functions including disabling/enabling Torrents, forcing the WoT Mac Wrapper to check for updates [this is separate from the game updates], etc.

Look for a Forum post by dstud208 and the download instructions are in his signature.
