I have it it researched for a while, just not sure if it's worth it.  I have no interest in the T10 FV4005.  I do like the Charioteer even though it's hard to get my winrate up in it even when I have spectacular games finishing in the top 5.

I have the T9 STRV-103-0 which I like a lot and I may eventually grind up the USA TD line again after giving up on the T28 Proto pre-buff (Matilda slow)

It's not quite as good as the Charioteer,  I think.   High dpm but awkward and slower.

My thoughts are no.  Stop where you are and put your credits towards a better tank.  Your better off with the TD from the other line.  I have one, and it's a let down from the Charioteer.

Yes, just so other people have them to shoot at. They are rare and it took me forever to be in battle with one and be the player to kill it so I could get the medal for killing all the tanks in the British tech tree.

Just get a conqeuror.

Better gun handling, only 0.01 worse accuracy, way more health and armor, only slightly worse mobility. better gun depression.

And it leads to an actually viable tier 10 unlike the Conway.

If you like TDs, and like the British tanks, you are much, but much better off with the Tortoise than the Conway. That is, if slow speed doesn't bother you. The Tort carries more ammo, has a faster reload, faster aim time, better dispersion, much better elevation and depression, and far better armor (provided you can hide its one glaring weak spot.) So, you might want to start the British TD line over again, but go the Medium route, branching up through the Churchill GC. This way you enjoy the fabulous Matilda and avoid the horrible Alecto. And, once you get the Tortoise, you can look forward to the DeathStar with its awful armor but oh-so-much-fun one-shot kaboom cannon.

As others have alluded to,  the 4005 is not worth the grind, the Conway is OK but not worth the research time.   Unless you want to get the medal for getting every tank researched of a nation, your time to research it would best be spent elsewhere

Love the Charioteer (kept it) and so far I am rather enjoying the Conway (fully upgraded). Mobility seems decent but yeah, the Charioteer pound for pound is better imho. Don't think I'm going to get the FV4005 though.

Unless you want the Fv4005 no need to spend. It has a good gun but a high profile and moderate speed. I personally enjoy my FV4005 very much (better than Fv215b 183) It plays defferent than most TDs , again high profile, not much camo factor, thin armor. The gun however is a monster. Once you get used to playing the high profile british TDs you can top games most times.

I'll just continue to grind my T-25 AT to the T-28 and T-95.  May give T-28 Proto another try since they buffed it, but I hated that tank.

Love my Proto - especially post buff. Have both the T-30 and the T-28 unlocked. Not sure which way to go first........

Charioteer is the only good thing in the TD line.
The only thing the Conway got is that 120mm. Also if you don't have the Tortoise but unlock the Conway (stock Conway) you automatically unlock the top gun for the Tortoise.

I do miss that Conway dpm tho

They need to change the FV4005 for the FV4005 stage 2 so it can have at lest a 2 round 183mm autoloader!

I like some weird tanks, I am enjoying the Conway, need to play it from the back and be mobile.

I hated the T-30 so much i sold it after I got the top gun unlocked. Like I said, weird tanks...

There are a variety of different problems with the Challenger. One of the biggest is the gun. The 17 pounder works well on tiers V and VI, but has pretty much run out of gas by tier VII. Especially so when you consider some of the OP tier VIII premiums you will be running into. Be prepared to spam lots of premium ammo. While the hit points weren't unreasonable the relatively thin armor means that you'll be getting penned every time you're hit.

My equipment loadout was vents, binocs and camo net. I felt that the vehicle's standard rate of fire with two loaders was high enough I could get away without a rammer. And whether you live or die depends on not getting spotted, so the camo net is a must. One good thing though is that both of your loaders can double as radiomen. So this lets you have one loader train the radioman skills and the other train the loader stuff and you have the best of both worlds.

At any rate, I eventually decided that I wasn't interested in running glass cannons and got rid of my Challenger, Achilles and Archer. I've got the Charioteer unlocked but it seems to be more of the same although the top gun is supposedly quite a bit better. Regardless I'm running the T28 Prototype now and it fits me a lot better than the British TDs did.

I did want to get a Tortoise but I'm not so sure now that I have the STRV 103-0, the armor on the Tort is completely useless against the stock regular ammo on the 103. I see a Tort in my 103 and I think "jackpot, here come the credits". The 103 can pen most of the front of the Tort but the Tort can't pen the 103 as long as it is angled strait at the Tort, this seems wrong some how. The T95 on the other hand, I can take this on head on in my 103 but it takes careful aiming it's 155mm gun will over match the 103 armor so I can't be seen by it which is difficult to be out of sight but close enough to aim at the weak points (lower plate and hatches). I think the Tort needs an armor buff.
