I played Blackhole sun for a piano recital in high school and had all the older dads coming up to shake my hand. I can't believe this happened :/

I played with him on several occasions and am very saddened.

He knocked on my practice space years ago when i was just a kid. Chris said he like what he heard and wondered if he could sit in.

One very fun night.

Then a few months later I was invited to a huge birthday bash and we jammed again. This time with a lot of big names.

On my final session with Cornell, I played on a mini stage setup in a high end car dealership.

We played our buts off. Had a BBQ and Chris decided to dry hump me when a huge pack of fans noticed it was him and I on the rooftop BBQ.

I wasn't his close personal friend, but I have sat on a couch like a rockstar with him and talk girls and guitars.

I'm kinda bummed guys, he was one of my biggest idols and I will miss him.

And now I am kinda crying.... I loved that guy.

His brother Pete and sister Maggie are awesome musicians and I hope they are doing OK, I am not...

He made me feel relevant and I am just starting to absorb this..

Wait, he dry humped you and then you sat down to talk about girls?

We were pretty hammered.

He was a very soft spoken guy.

I know it seems strange, but yes, for the short time we hung out, he treated me like a star.

We sang a few songs and now it's just a memory.

Gawd, I'm not handling this well am I...

Sorry, bro. I know it's hard, it's just like losing a best friend when you actually knew them.

Wow! Amazing stories SS!

I'm heartbroken today.  He was one of my all time favorite musicians.  I'm so glad I saw Temple of the Dog last November, he sounded absolutely perfect.

We've lost so many now...Kurt, Layne, Scott, Andrew, and Chris...

say hello to heaven Chris  :(

My sister just texted my photos or her and Cornell. Huge smile.

Now she is a mess too.

We both really liked the guy and went to every show we could together.

My earliest shows were watching him before SG was big.

And I will always remember his first arena show where he said:

"You know, there are some people out there who are worried about what I might say on stage.

Well to them I say . F***-F***-F*** you.

Full house lights, middle finger in the air. "F***-F***-F*** you. Yeah I wanna "F***-F***-F*** you!"

I miss the 80's sometimes. Seattle back then was much more alive than now.

Soooo many wanna be Seattlites minted everyday.

This just puts the final nail in a bygone era...

My childhood is about to become a Time Life boxed set....

A great singer / songwriter lost of an age when musicians actually wrote songs of substance.

One of the few 'artist' deaths i'm actually sad about.

Say hello man..say hello

Depression has to be involved in this.  It was death by hanging (Suicide) but when you

consider the material he wrote, it makes sense.
