I was thinking about buying the Chrysler but I have 5000 gold on my account. Is there a way I can buy the Chrysler ingame with gold because I dont really plan on using this gold? (Of course I'd buy more gold)

I would say go head and buy it if you like it and can afford it without spending the rent money, it looks like a decent, well balanced tier 8, pay cash, WG needs the dough.

WG has put some premiums in the tech tree for gold but most of them are regular balanced premiums. All of the recent pay2win bunch of premiums that crapon standard tier 8s, aka the Skorpion, T26E5, Liberte, Defender, and now the Chrysler K GF are only for sale for cash and I don't think WG has any intention of making them available for gold in the near future.

If your goal is to make credits, the Chrysler K isn't very good for that. It has 198 base penetration so you'll have trouble penetrating a lot of tanks. Of course, you can compensate for this with spending credits on the apcr round which is even better than the T32 apcr round with 260 penetration. If you fire premium round in this tank, I would say that it is better than the T26E5. If your goal is to make credits, the T26E5 is going to do a much better job of it because you get 230 standard penetration which is really good.

Hmm, I don't know I just thought it looked interesting for its novelty. I don't shoot gold rounds so the 198 pen is okay for me. It wouldn't be my main moneymaker but I don't know. Don't really want to impulse buy it either though

it's a poor money maker. large shell cost 1k a piece! and poor pen makes a very poor credit maker. trust me i learned that from the t-34-3:sceptic:

"If your goal is to make credits, the Chrysler K isn't very good for that."

I'm doing something wrong then, I guess. I've been loading up with HE (because of the AP/APCR pen & expense). 420 HP alpha DMG (HE) has been putting more credits in the bank account than AP/APCR.  Maybe it's because I'm less concerned with getting kills than I am with reducing Red HP to make it easier for team mates shooting AP/APCR or arty to finish them off.

Any tank can make credits.  The important thing is whether it's fun for you - whether in game, for collectors, or just to be different - fun is the reason you pay money for it.

With that fargin gun, I wont buy the Chrysler. I hate it. The tank it self may be impossible to penetrate from the front but unless you load up prem ammo you are not going to pen a single tier 9 or tier 10 tank, plus many tier 8s. It's the most frustrating gun in the game.

Oh how strange, hearing that the Chrysler K-GF is not a profit making heavy tank in World of Tanks...............

I brought the Chrysler K-GF because it was different from all the other premium tanks, as sure it's a bit of a challenge to play it in game, but it side scrapes like beast when on city maps!  Strange though that many who have looked at the tank or tried it on the test server, say that it does not make a profit; well, it actually has been a pretty profitable tank for me so far.  I tend to use AP and HE in matches and only load APCR for tanks that are hard to penk hell, I cleared almost 120,000 credits (profit, after repairs and ammo costs) in my first 3 matches; as I was able to do quite a bit of damage to other tanks in the game and racked up some decent assist damage along the way.

The Chrysler K-GF is like all the other premiums and it will come down to your own skill in driving such tanks, as to whether or not it can make a profit reliably.

:)

you're shooting at the wrong tanks, in the wrong ways, at the wrong times

I play a lot of arty and one thing I notice about the Chrysler is I can whack the puck out of it lol ( Canadians will get the pun lol) So, if have arty avoidance skills ( or is it just me on arty?)  get it.

I bought one just to have it. I have been working the USSR heavy line and need a better crew trainer. The highest USSR premium I can actually get at the moment is the IS6 so I kinda regretted not getting the defender when it was available. Thus I bought the Chrysler just in case I might need it later. Not a great reason but there it is.  :-(

With all this Chrysler talk all I can think of is that B52's song,

I got me a Chrysler, it seats about twenty

So, come on;

And bring your juke-box money...

Or conversely from Steve Miller:

girl I know, stole her from a friend,

fool got lucky stole her back again,

because she knew he had a Chrysler,

cruising on down the road,

cruising on down the road

(I think the original is he had a Mercury, but hey, that's why we call it 'poetic license,' it's all about the car)

GL, HF & HSYBF

(thinking about Cadillac Ranch now)
