No, he wasn't doing his job.   What you are saying is that Wargamming, or any company for that matter SHOULD CONDONE that kind of behavior.     Thats lunacy, he ABUSED his privledge that why he got canned.

Quickbaby absolutely ROASTED the AC1 Sentinel, but he did so LOGICALLY and CALMLY and didn't let personal emotions dictate the content.     If I remember he had only 1 good thing to say about that tank (rate of fire), and every other thing he covered was how that tank was garbage.

he didnt get CANNED, he's not an employee learn about the situation before making statements

QB is on WG's payroll, not exactly apples to apples.

Well, I never did say I liked his content. I honestly tend to blame him for the bad teams of today.

Sir Foch is just another loud mouth youtube tough guy who got his marbles handed to him by WG and ran from it with his tail between his legs.

I'm the devils advocate and I'm glad WG took a stand.....whether they had legal authority or not. If some moron was on social media saying F me and my product, I'd be plenty ticked off too, especially with all the free goodies he was getting. Thats majorly biting the hand the feeds you.

Whaha :)

QB is cool, better then I will ever be, but he is a bit biased towards WG and has always been more of a PG rated version. Foch is just salty and funny like that, WG knew this and had no issues with it until this week.

If you don't like Foch, no problem, but I see antifa level thinking here that it is okay to harass someone and take away his income because you do not agree with his opinion. That is wrong on so many levels and is pure fascism (aka antifa, which should be called just profa).

That's cool, I respect that. I happen to like neither. Foch is obvious. As for QB, I distinctly remember that one strategy on Sunny Salient (Can't spelt Prok for the life of me :sceptic: ;) shown by Jingles. Guess what my next match had me facing off against? Needless to say, we were fighting the guys that tried it. I admire their respect to imitation at the very least. We still won against them. :P

But I mentioned elsewhere that censorship is NEVER a good idea. Even as a last resort by some belligerent as Foch basically painted it, it's sketchy at best. But if you want fascism, there's plenty of real life examples that are far, FAR worse. Internet drama is the least of my worries...or should be.

WG threatened to make a false copyright strike... just a couple of those and Foch could never post videos on YT ever again... and you're ok with that?

What would have been false about it?

They have the right to control who is a CC and who is not, they do not have the right to threaten a copyright strike just because they don't like the content.

They have every right to do so legally.

No, it is a well established aspect of copyright law, in Europe as well in the U.S. that you can use samples of content when you are criticizing that content, regardless of whether your criticism is positive or negative, the content creator

Just like book critics can quote passages from books, and movie critics can play clips from movies, game critics can show content from the game - and they are supposed to be completely protected from the content creators. Claiming copyright infringement as a way of silencing critics is a base form of conduct with no legal protection and is always wrong.

WGNA, you will continue to have my support until the day the moon falls into the sea.

My thoughts: the video was unprofessional, and Foch should be fired with no more free stuff - wargaming can find someone else easy...

The copyright strike threat was legitimate, any company has the right to make that claim, and if Foch disagrees he can take it to court (that's the law)...

I'm honestly embarrassed by the amount of whining that people in this game are doing... ya'all need to grow up

You might have better luck telling that to the monkeys, but that's just me.  Personally, it makes them easy enough kills if I recognize the ones who whined previously on my team, and I spot them on the enemy team.

I just wish Meathead Militia would do a video where he acts like the teacher of an unruly class and sits down and teaches everyone a lesson about maturity and being an adult. Wargaming should be like "no more free stuff for anyone until everyone calms down for one FULL month"

And maybe after that one month, those who behave got a free garage slot Tier 2 or 3 tank? Maybe?

Let me get this straight. "legal authority or not"? You're seriously advocating that a company is in the right to take illegal action against a consumer if that consumer pisses the company off?

You are correct but, the people who work there are human and have feelings, is what the OP is getting at here.

That doesn't apply to a Business.

I seem to remember from college that free speech only protects you from the government. It does not protect what you say about individuals and companies. Companies and individuals have the ability to redress your speech towards them.

Telling your boss that he is an idiot is not protected speech, and he can fire you for it. You work at their pleasure. Same applies here.

You're right. But companies that threaten legal action against people for YouTube videos that clearly fall under Fair Use is utilizing law established by that government to squelch speech.

As it's Fair Use, it wouldn't pass scrutiny in a court, but it would cost Foch time and money to fight, which would make it a pretty immoral act for a company to do.
