I am so sorry for beating this dead horse. I meant to make a poll in my last post...

From what I understand, these are the major differences in the two tanks:

Object 140:

-5kph faster

-1 degree better gun depression

-Over-matched by 90mm on top of turret

-Better side turret by 26mm (187mm)

T-62a:

-.33 dispersion rather than .34 dispersion* (edit)

-Better topside turret armor (cannot be overmatched by 90mms)

-worse side turret armor

-worse rear armor (45 vs 55, doesn't really matter anyways)

I love my T62a.

I got ACE tanker in my very first battle in it and got to kill my 3 clanmate platoon that screwed up the timing in and got the enemy team.

140.

some addiition to the tanks difference is their side armor

62a has a flat 80

while 140 has 57.  but the 140's armor is better as that 57 is angled inward almost like a mini T-22sr.  leading to more "track only" shots vs 62a's "hope it bounces"

the gun depression and 5kph help alot.   and its got better handling on the move than 62a(as hard as it is to tell cause they so close)

personally though, i stick to t62a cause its the original.

rule of thumb, if your using it as a flanker, a brawler, or an aggressive pusher.    get 140

if your using it as a dpm "hold the flank"  where you get to pick where you fight before hand.  62a

The rule of thumb is that the 62a is better for pubs, and the 140 is better for team stuff. But you can't go wrong with either choice.

Stop beating the dead horse !!!!

IF you old enough, sit down and just think about this statement you wrote:

Block Quote

T-62a:

-0.01 faster aiming time

Just give it a thought.

I voted Object after having played Both on the Test Server....

I like Both, but the 140 was more Drivable/User Friendly....     The 62A has the same Over Roration issues I had with the III/IV, that's not a Bad thing, just takes some getting used to and I haven't played my III/IV in Forever after I unlocked the 30.01D.....        The 140 was just Smoother right out of the Gate....

I'm about to make this very decision myself.  At first the turret of the 62a had me, because its armor looks nice, but you can only use that as an advantage when hull down.  The question is do the armor and turret provide that much more protection at distances than the 140's armor?

I generally play my T-54 the same way I do a light tank.  I use camo and view range to get early spots, snipe from a distance, then go in later and pick on damaged tanks.  Because of that I often find myself driving across the map to various spots, using slopes to my advantage, etc.

At longer distances most tanks are not going to be firing accurately, and with a smaller profile, better sloping on the hull front / side, and a tough turret face I figure the 140's armor will hold up fine.  The odds of them hitting a shot on the cupolas/turret roof are low at that kind of a distance, especially if you dance back and forth and don't let them aim.

The only thing that I know I will hate is the number of times my modules go out.  I hear bad things about the ammo racks and gas tanks in particular on both these machines, but have heard that the 140 is especially susceptible.  Do the 140's burn as often as people say?  How do they compare with regards to module damage to the 62a?  I use auto extinguishers on all tanks, but if I'm using one up every match it's going to get pricey.

Still can't decide.  I mainly do random pubs, no real desire to mess around with a clan.

Both are borderline OP'ed tanks, can't go wrong either way.

Have the 140 drivers noticed an easier time with the annoying module issues now that we have reusable repairs/extinguishers?

I went ahead and opted for the 140. I'm currently grinding my t-54. I'm not a fan of the 200 pen. Especially since more and more tanks are losing frontal weakspots. It's the only take I use more than 3 gold rounds on per game. Anyways, I guess I'll see about that module damage soon.

I voted for the T-62A only because it is a classic tank that I have seen in many news photos. I have a Tamiya model kit that I bought in about 1980. I got bought the WoT tank recently, and I suck with it so far. I am still grinding the T-54 in order to get the Object 140 cuz it probably fits my playing style better. I may just find out that I play one much better than the other even though they are so similar. I've heard of that happening for some players.

I'm going to research both fully then decide, because I saw on a DezGamez video this week that WG stated they are going to try to further differentiate the roles these two tanks fill.  I'm hoping we'll some info over the summer about the upcoming Russian buffs (IS-7, IS-6, KV-5, T-44-100) and changes to the 140 and 62a.

If I just play daily doubles maybe they'll have announced their plans by the time both tanks are unlocked.

I only have the T-62A so far.  I really love the mobility and firepower.  It can be tricky to get into a good firing position in a hilly area due to limited gun depression.  I like the turret armor, but get hit anywhere else and you are generally taking a healthy dose of damage.  It can bounce shots and I get lucky with the tracks eating some damage, but it is not the most survivable tank unless you can take advantage of position or speed.  I am pretty average when it comes to trying to make this tank shine, especially due to the fact that more often than not, the pub matches are a bit of a SS.  Often you are pitted against other heavies that can soak up damage with their larger pool of hit points.  That combined with some of the maps that create corridors of death for head to head fights.

I like it.  I enjoy playing it.  There is a high risk and reward for playing it aggressively.  I am not in a huge rush to get the the 140.  The T-62A is just about tied for my all time favorite medium, the E-50M.  The T-62A is not as nimble as the T-54, but it still gets around pretty quickly, can exploit holes in the enemy line, and put down a healthy amount of firepower to boot.

In the Cup clan tournament we're in now, I've noticed all the top 100 and down clans are using nearly ALL 140s against us, while we're using all T 62s.

any suggestions as to why they prefer 140s?????

THX in advance
