Nice new feature, aydie.  Thanks.

Any chance we could have something to create forum signatures, since our wotlabs ones aren't updating?  Also, I think it would be cool if your site showed some of the high level overall info that you can see on other sites like survival rate, K/D Ratio, capture/defense points, etc.  I'm still going to a few different places to get all this, and it would be awesome if your site was the go to site for everything.

Thanks

top level info:

yeah got that request in another thread as well. what would you guys like to see most? ;)

I think what you see in my sig now is fine for a design; doesn't need to be anything fancy.  Only change is I'd like to see WN8 for 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, 60 days, but not a big deal if that can't be done.

For the high level info, I'd probably take anything I can get, since I'm a stats junkie :)  For each period of time (today, yesterday, 7d, 30d, 60d, 90d, 1k battles), I'd be interested in:

  • Total Wins & Win % (you have Win % already of course)
  • Total Losses & Loss %
  • Total Draws & Draw %
  • K/D Ratio (Destruction Ratio)
  • Avg Kills
  • Damage Ratio
  • Avg Spots
  • Total Battles Survived & Survival Rate %
  • Cap Points
  • Defense Points
  • Avg Dmg
  • Avg XP
  • Personal Rating
  • Battles per Day
  • Avg Tier
  • Hit Rate
  • Win Rate Rank
  • WN8 Rank

Though not of much interest to me, I know some players would want total XP, total kills, and total damage as well.  There's probably more from your individual tank statistics that could be applied to overall statistics, but I know that's already a huge list! :)

If you want to take it a step further, you could have in parenthesis afterwards, a number indicating an increase or decrease compared to the players overall stats: +green, -red.

Thanks

well, having too much info basically compromises the whole point of top lvl info, since you can’t see it on a single glance, and you can get all that by clicking the details link ;)

Then you're seeing it per tank and not for the whole account though, right?

there’s one line with a greek sigma as tank name, that’s the total in the selected timeframe

I'm a newcomer to your site and I have to say great work. I wish I had the knowledge and patience.

Played around a bit more. Since midnight there's the new scorecard, which should show quite some more infos than the previous version.

Additionally the scaling on mobiles should work much better now, especially in horizontal orientation

just some small steps:

  • added the avg tier to the scorecard
  • repaired the login function

in a first test, logged on users now have a garage filter option for the tank stats, when viewing their own page

6 Months!!!!!

Not even a thank you, people like CatTeam89 leach on society. I for one want to thank Aydie for putting this together, vast majority of us tankers greatly appreciate your efforts to make this game better. Unfortunately there are still cancerous players like CatTeam89 on here. Incredibly rude and ridiculous demand.

Yikes.  The best stats site is down!

I would never have thought that you need to be concerned about the new data protection acts.  I don't think you share any applicable data.

Hope you find a way to feel comfortable having it back online soon!

Hi aydie!

How's the new beta wotzilla project going?  I don't think there's any alternatives that came close to providing the data that your site did.... my spreadsheets are way out of date already! :)

Once you have something back online, is it going to be the same/similar/vastly different?  Do you know when it will go live?

Thanks

How to start an open letter to my users?
No idea, but I'll try.

Hi folks,
by now you will have realized, that wotzilla.com has stopped its service.
I don't want to discuss the regulations, I don't want to discuss the wannabes,
the ifs and buts, let's just accept that it's a fact.

However, as you might have noticed, I put a flea in some ears that I'm planning
a follow-up project. Well, it's been two weeks now since closing, and nothing has
appeared?! Ok, for a start: 2 weeks are nothing. I got an everyday job, I have
family, I'm expecting a second son any day soon, there's a lot going on around the
house, like a new fence, a new driveway gate, a new sun shade, and and and.
Additionally I got projects going on at the work I'm getting paid for.

Still, I'm actually currently working on the project every single evening, however,
currently there's not much to show for. The problem is: I want to understand, what
I'm implementing. A very popular demand by my users was, to implement the
authentication via OpenID connect, instead of using the WG API functions already
implemented. To anyone interested: The specs can be found here:
http://openid.net/developers/specs/

Ok, so where's the big deal? A lot of other pages are already using it.
Well, there are some issues:
#1: As I said, I want to understand what I'm implementing. That means, I don't just
follow examples, I need to understand what's happening.
#2: It is not designed for what I'm planning.

Whooohooo, what did I write here? Well now it'll get interesting.

WoTzilla follow-up will be a windows application on your PC. However, OpenID is not
designed for that use case, so I'll have to develop something to sort that. That's what
I spent the last days on.

I know many of you will be disappointed (well, a marketing guy would kill me for that
statement), but wotzilla v2 will, in the first stage, be a windows application.

Why?
#1 I'm splitting up the project into a WebAPI and a client app. This gives me the
opportunities to develop either mobile apps or to revert to a web application in future.
additionally that's something I need to learn about at work right now ;)

#2 For the windows client I'm expecting easier coding on my side. To be honest, 80% of my
work on the wotzilla webpage was regarding some issues about html, razor, or javascript.
It was not so much about the function itself, as about the syntax, browser specialities,
and other stupid stuff. For windows forms, except from the framework I'll be using, I
know quite a bit more about what I'm doing.

#3 78% of the server request originated from windows clients. This means, while android and
ios might be well distributed, still by far the majority would be covered by such a client.

#4 this will give me better handling for creating screenshots for bragging on social media,

excel exports, or whatever you require

If you have registered for the beta in the past, but can't live with that decision, just let me
know, I'll delete you from the list of players I'm currently collecting data for.

To the ones who volunteered to assist me with programming:
Thanks for the offer, but at least until I agreed with myself on a new direction, it would
cause more work than benefits. I might contact you at a later stage though.

cheers,

aydie

I'll release more info on what I've planned regarding that client app soon.

I just made a visit to the site and I'm really happy to see that I can get tank activity stats again as part of the closed beta.

Thank you very much for this.

I'm looking forward to see how this evolves.

Btw, I noticed a small bug: The Average xp column displays the wrong info on both Tank stats and Tank activity tables. It looks like it repeats the average dmg frags column.

Aydie, can you open the wotzilla project and share the link from github ?  In case others want start a project or to contribute to wotzilla.

Right now I get a message like this for EU:
"

Error.

An error occurred while processing your request."

Hi,

no, the project won’t be opened.

Will look into the issue after work, seems some service got stuck.

cheers,
