It's funny because you only play T57.

implying that I never use the account of someone that actually has IS7 from time to time to try tanks out before I go and grind something before finding out I wasted a month to grind for it
It does not matter; all you play is T57. Of course IS-7 seems terrible after playing a tank that requires less skill.
It's underpowered but not that bad.

Took mine out for a few runs yesterday. I took out a T110E4 and a T54E1 both trying to rush me down. The tank definitely has some staying power, but I feel a bit disadvantaged when I see what other tier 10s can do. I would like to see some changes to make this tank relevant again...

Aim time and acc is the only thing that an IS7 need to shine again.
Of course, the level of terrain resistance of the IS7 is a thing that Wargaming simply put to "troll" the tank.
It should be as nimble as the Is8 is - but with a real armor.

I still have great games in my IS-7. Had my lower plate nicely covered while holding the 8 line on Abbey last night. Actually had my tank angled up slightly so it gave my exposed front armor even more of an angle. While at 450HP I killed an E4, E5, and WT E100 all while bouncing their shots. Also had a team mate in an IS7 behind me planted against my rear covering his lower plate. If you're struggling mightly with the IS-7 then you're doing it wrong. Sure it may sit behind the power curve but it is not a terribad tank either! (these were blue/purple players btw)
BLUF - the tank is still great when used to it's potential.
