It's funny because you only play T57.

:facepalm:implying that I never use the account of someone that actually has IS7 from time to time to try tanks out before I go and grind something before finding out I wasted a month to grind for it:facepalm:

It does not matter; all you play is T57.  Of course IS-7 seems terrible after playing a tank that requires less skill.

It's underpowered but not that bad.

Took mine out for a few runs yesterday. I took out a T110E4 and a T54E1 both trying to rush me down. The tank definitely has some staying power, but I feel a bit disadvantaged when I see what other tier 10s can do. I would like to see some changes to make this tank relevant again...

Aim time and acc is the only thing that an IS7 need to shine again.

Of course, the level of terrain resistance of the IS7 is a thing that Wargaming simply put to "troll" the tank.

It should be as nimble as the Is8 is - but with a real armor.

I havent played this tank in a long time.  And I see no reason to do it, with every new T10 that is introduced it only gets farther behind the pack.  Its a horrible tank and needs a buff asap.

I still have great games in my IS-7.  Had my lower plate nicely covered while holding the 8 line on Abbey last night.  Actually had my tank angled up slightly so it gave my exposed front armor even more of an angle.  While at 450HP I killed an E4, E5, and WT E100 all while bouncing their shots.  Also had a team mate in an IS7 behind me planted against my rear covering his lower plate.  If you're struggling mightly with the IS-7 then you're doing it wrong.  Sure it may sit behind the power curve but it is not a terribad tank either!  (these were blue/purple players btw)

BLUF - the tank is still great when used to it's potential.

I agree that the IS-7 is still a great tank, but it just needs to be updated, A little better pen. will help with the bounced shots. My success has dropped pretty heavily after last update. But still above 52 percent.

I had a pretty abysmal start with the IS-7, averaging in the mid 40s.  I've managed to bring it up over 50% more recently, by playing it more like a medium and less like a heavy.  Of course, as many players have pointed out, if a tank begs to be played like a medium, it really needs to have aim time more like a medium.

It's even less of medium than IS-8.

IS-7 is a buffed version of IS-8 that needs to be played somewhat similar to IS-8 but with even more reliable armour.

It can YOLO across campinovka if spawned north(either sit against house or hulldown near water); it can go in straight line to places slower heavies can't go and hold it indefinitely with some support if hulldown.

If you sit still the bloom is just as good as any medium tank when rotating turret; and IS-7 has the armour to aim for longer time(as long as you bait enemy into bouncing shots first).

I constantly get 3k+ damage dealt and 7k+ potential damage(8k+ if I die) in CW.

I don't care about aim time at this point; IS-7 needs more dpm.

If you can cover up the lower plate it does shine but man I took a break from this game only to see some more additional firepower in Tier 10. Other than adjusting to the new boys on the block it wasn't too difficult to get into the swing of things. Though I do occasionally pack some gold ammo to stick it to anyone who bothers me too much.

last time i had played is7, it was buffed and a bit OP(would bounce everything sometimes). now after coming back to the game after 2 years, i noticed is-7 had been nerfed pretty badly armor and gun.

its a bit underpowered, could use a small buff to front armor and buff to the gun. going by its winrate, it'll most likely get a buff in the future.

I Think the IS-7 is awsome, by far my best tank. its armour rocks and its gun can pen everything. Plus its fast:)
