Absolutely no evidence of Autoaim+ in this video. He did NOT lock onto anyone through a hill; the closest to that was the OI Experimental and I clearly saw the white indicator on the enemy tank when autoaim engaged.

gungrave,

thank you for the respectful response. Other than locking on to the OI while behind a hill, I concede that it is possible....but, come on, every shot every time?

It sounds like you have already come to a conclusion. Not to be a jerk but are you interested in a real discussion or is your mind already made up?

Again not trying to pick a fight - genuinely curious.

If thats true, and no, I didn't know it, then I may be wrong.  I didn't know you could auto aim behind a hill.  If that's the case, then an apology might be due...except for the sheer number of times he did it.

Thank you for posting the link. I'll watch it.

I retract my previous comment.

The video was released yesterday

Almost 19K games, and I keep learning new things about the game.

You can autoaim on any target as long as it's outlined in red.

In order to autoaim on a tank behind a hill, go into 3rd person zoom out until you can have the target outlined in red and click rmb.

Either way, everything that could go right for this T-71 driver did. He had great match making, he played extremely well and everything just fell into place for him from there.

I've had good games where everything went right, and bad games where everything went wrong. (Usually more of the latter) What makes the difference often times is making proper choices.

He bugged out of the east position by the castle, and that was the correct thing to do. Overall he managed his spotting distance well and used the advantages of the T-71 to hi own benefit.

I watched this three times. And saw no use of Auto Aim + anywhere that I could find. And Further more if he had been using it....I believe QB would have picked up on it and said something.

Watched the video and 100% he is using the now (3 months old) illegal auto lock mod.  Look closely, if the tank isn't highlight red when the voice says "target acquired" then he is using the auto locking mod.  And there are a number of times where the tank is NOT highlight red but the voice notifies him he is locked.

WRONG. Tell us where exactly you saw him lock on when the target wasn't highlighted in red? If you want to publicly accuse someone of cheating/using illegal mods, you'd better be able to prove it with specific examples. This player had an amazing game and did everything cleanly and should be congratulated rather than wrongly accused.

do we know for certain that the replay is being done from the player's perspective?

here's part of the problem, wargaming's own replay controls allow the user to change to 3rd person view while running the replay.  it's amazing how many people don't know this...

I was accused of hax for recording a replay and uploading it in my own T71 after I rammed and rolled a SPIC in this thread, because I recorded it initially in 3rd person view, which isn't how I played that entire stretch..  http://forum.worldof...__fromsearch__1

if you watch the first streamable link, it looks like I don't bother aiming at the arty with my final round.  scroll down in the thread and see the screenshot, or the 2nd streamable link.

^^^

this replay is from 9.18 maybe it cannot run now in our clients :(

replay is here, so maybe we can check if he use autoaim mods or not

I believe auto aim + is supposed to be illegal on NA.

But tbh it didn't look like he used it that much. I didn't see evidence of autoaim+.

Is auto aim + is in Aslains mod pack?

Loaded that mod pack yesterday and believe that I saw something like it.

But I could be wrong because I am not that much of an auto aim player.

What I watch that video a sort time ago.  The T71 driver had a nice game!

And don't you think that if the guy was using a banned mod that QB would pick up on it and no post the game or post the and say so?

Definitely not cheating. Just good auto-aim skills and precise aim using the mouse.

I've first hand experience with this, eventually, using auto-aim a lot, you tend to get extremely good at it, and it becomes second nature to auto-aim incredibly quickly and with pin-point accuracy.

I went over the replay, and validated all the times he used auto-aim. Definitely legitimate aiming, with no modifications.

As for him hitting 'every' shot, well, guess you can call that good RNG

Plus, you have to remember that videos of replays are not always accurate.  Depending on which view you are using to record the replay, tanks do not always show up as highlighted.  It's a replay glitch.  I just watched one of my own replays, and switched to free camera view to get a better look at what was going on around me, and at least three of the tanks I had auto-aimed on didn't show up as highlighted in free camera view, though they were highlighted when I acquired them.

This is why actual replays are always far better for analyzing these things than you-tube videos.

It didn't look like he was using an auto-aim mod to me.  If you use auto-aim a lot, especially in fast tanks, you get really good at being able to lock on while on the move.

When he kills the Strv m/42, the tank is NOT red, in fact the tank is likely behind a destructible object like a fence / wall or building but he locks and fire for a kill shot.  You can pause the video right at the moment when he locks and clearly see the tank is NOT highlight.   In fact you can't even see the tank as it is either too small or behind an object.

take a look to what extent a mod can "help" your game play

http://tankstuff.net/autoaim-mod-sae/

Don't kid yourself, there are still a lot of mod users out there and we can never really know if this guy is cheating or not.  The only way is if WG continues to build algorithms to detect these things.

One possibility is the new auto-aim+ mod that you preactivate when you want to lock onto something, and it will lock on as soon as you highlight a target with your mouse; no need to click at just the right time.  So far it seems legal, and it certainly helps deal with WG's crappy lock mechanism.  I haven't been able to download it yet to check it out, but since 9.18 I haven't been having the usual issues with auto-aim not engaging so not a priority for me.

As long as the tank can be seen in 3rd person view and highlighted in red you can lock onto target, even if you don't have a direct 1st person LoS.

Claus posted a good video showing how it's done.  It's amazing how many players do not know this.

http://forum.worldof...5#entry10963075

This makes for some lulz when combined with a high-arc derp gun.  Zoom out, auto-aim on guy behind small hill, BOOM!
