Hey everyone

I've been playing around in my M4A1 revaolrise (I tried) a bit more often lately.

Someone was kind enough to gift me the tank about a year ago, and about a month after I received it I took a break from WOT.

Now, back, I'm still trying to figure out what makes it go.

The gun doesn't QUITE seem accurate enough, or with enough pen, to be a sniper.

It's not mobile enough to be a flanker, and the reload is too long.

The turret is not armored enough to hold a hull down position.

I'm not trying to complain about the tank in any way, because I still manage to do about 1,200 DPG in the tank just because of its ridiculous alpha damage.

But how should I be playing the M4A1 rev?

Pretend you're a slightly more mobile T34 without turret armor. Now try not to cry. Fail to do so. Cry a lot.

Stay 2nd line, try to be inconspicuous. Most people will ignore you. The gun is good enough to do work if you give it time and enough space, but you're literally useless at the front of a push and any arty you meet at that tier will pen you outright. You absolutely can snipe with it though, the Rheinmetal Borsig has the same accuracy on the 12.8 and it does wonder from a mile away. There is, the obvious difference in pen however. So a more mobile repositioning sniper, a flex tank to a degree due to its overall low speed, but its passable. It's not exactly a "good" tank, but its workable.

Abuse the gun depression...as much as you can...

Wait for a chance by letting others spot and or the enemy to shoot, then pop up over a ridge, shoot, and drop back below the ridge...

It's basically played as a no armor TD with mediocre pen.  But...it's APCR, so kill scouts and mediums since you will most likely get to "see" those first.

Lurk. Snipe...look for people not paying attention and drop 400 damage bombs on them.... Gun handles decently enough, but the magic is the nearly instant-hit standard ammo it fires...it makes it an excellent sniper at long range as long as your target doesnt have gobs of armor.

try not to get too close to the fight.

you will get punished for that long reload.

make your shots count.

Medium range Support tank and medium range Sniper. Works pretty good in both roles.
