Everyone playing this game had to grind to it, why are you special?

this. I still remember the game when I got my first sixth sense. It happened right in the middle of a battle. Felt rewarding. And no I did not "suffer" playing without it. It is a reward that needs to be earned not given. If it is given for free it has no value.

I never understood this mentality.  The point of entry at this stage of the game is far different than when you or I started playing.  In order for the current newbs to hit the ground running they are going to need more than what we started with.  Hardy anyone back then had multi-skilled crews, and there were a lot fewer veterans who knew the ins and outs of maps and tanks.

At some point you have to look outside yourself and see what will keep new players around, and keep the game afloat.   IMO anything that will make new players more competent and less of a liability to their team is a good thing.  It's not like you won't be able to handle them if they got 6th sense for free.

It's such a tiny thing to give, and that attittude only makes you look like a grumpy, old, jaded curmudgeon  "Why do these kids need computers at school?  We had to use slide rulers... and if we didn't like it we got smacked on the knuckles..  <grumble>"

This poll simply proves that getting people to vote for free stuff is very easy to accomplish.

Alexander Fraser Tytler

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy...”

Not only this, but it's rigged for real. He changed the poll like 5 times and it looks nothing like it did when I voted now, lol.

That quote isn't true though, otherwise We would be feeling the bern.

It has nothing to do with free stuff, 6th sense is an essential element in this game and is mandatory, playing without 6th sense is just asking to die as a lot of the time I bait people into the open to unload a full clip on them in my auto loaders, without sixth sense they won't even know what's coming, with 6th sense at least they know they have a choice to make. It also makes proxy scouting a thing which is one of the most important aspects of the game.

New players need to learn the mechanics of this game and how they work. People complain 24/7 abut new players but never lend them a helping hand and wonder why they keep sucking 24/7.

Absolutely, 6th sense should be available for all tanks. It is a critical part of the game and unlike every other skill/perk, having it gives you a massive advantage compared to those who don't. I think WG once floated the idea long ago during discussions of a crew skill rework that it would be unlocked on the radioman at 100% regular training. I think being available at all times is better, but I can understand making it at 100% regular training. Attaching 6th sense to the life of the  radioman would give people a reason to keep that poor sod alive.

Let em earn it. The more you pamper these new players the more they complain on the game. Back in the day there was no tankrewards, missions, on tracks, gold ammo for silver,  and MM was more than 2 tiers spread, yet here we are. Well, at least some of us... :(

new players get a 100% crew in there new tank, it was not always like that.

new players get YT and tutorials.

new players can use a nice bonus code ( if they are a bit smart) to get a premium and some other stuff.

new players can grind a lot faster now due to all the 100 and 200 xp bonus things.

new players get magic super arty stunn power instead of one hit explosion of there vehicle.

new players get a lot better LT mm.. Or better mm al together.

new players get awesome corridor maps ( sarcasm)

new players get gold ammo for credits.

new players get a lot of ingame information that used to be mods.

new players get OP premiums ( it used to be funny to see a newb in his Lowe)

new players... A well I can go on for ever and yes I know a lot of old players will have this to now but it is so much easier to get used to the game now.

new players have to grind to get SS.....omg!

I've ground out so many Sixth Sense commanders that I'll never have to play without it again if I don't want to. I have probably a dozen commanders with Sixth Sense of various nations sitting around my barracks waiting to be assigned to tanks.

I don't vote in polls with required "bacon" options. However, given the "mandatory" nature of Sixth Sense and the long time required to get it (as a newbie; it obviously doesn't take long when you have accumulated premium tanks and personal reserves, and have premium time and good crews to funnel XP into a new commander), I think it's clear that something should be changed. Either having Sixth Sense as a skill where the time it takes to go off decreases down to the current 3s as doogie9982 suggested or giving it to everyone would be good. I don't like the idea of only giving it to everyone with a 100% radio operator or commander, because that would essentially require retraining for gold when you move to a new tank.

The idea that wanting to make the game more comfortable for newbies is from a sense of entitlement is so stunningly silly that I actually laughed out loud a few times reading this thread. That mindset would also argue against tutorials, invite codes, the 300 free XP every new player gets, and all of the other things done to increase quality of life for new players and therefore player retention. I refuse to engage with this idea further on the grounds that thinking about it more might actually make me stupider, but I applaud the OP for somehow treating the people who espouse it as peers.

If you're relying on 6th sense to tell you when you are seen then you're doing it wrong anyway. 6th sense is on a 3 second delay and you could already have been shot by the time it activates. Occasionally, the intel from this perk will help you but mostly the skill is overrated and map knowledge and positioning are more important. Play like you're always spotted and use cover and play team and 6th sense isn't even necessary. I do run 6th on a handful of tanks but mostly it tells me I've been spotted leaving spawn which is incredibly useful, NOT.

1: new players don't know this

2: proxy scouting is important

3: it tells you if your position was safe

4: it trolls you if someone rolled up and spotted you whether you fired or not

5: it let's you active and passive scout and tells you when the gig is up

And many more reasons why 6th sense is essential to have

6th Sense should NOT be free.  While people are grinding to get it, they are developing something even more beneficial than 6th Sense - COMMON Sense.

One of the reasons you ground out the skills is to get a good skill.  Give it free and you diminish part of why the game is good.  Please quit advocating dumbing down the game, we have enough of that mess already.

What a coincidence! I, too, believe that removing stupid and frustrating elements of game design so new players actually enjoy the game and want to stick around is "dumbing down" the game. As far as I'm concerned, those scrubs deserve to suffer.

You are going to grind regardless.  Keeping 6th sense from them will not make them grind any less, or learn any faster.  They are going to learn simply by putting in the time.  You offer what will help them want to put in the time.

Using your logic, they should limit the purchase of tier 8 premiums.  "You should have to grind to tier 8 to learn".   It's obvious that WG doesn't agree with you on the "grinding to get good" aspect.  Perhaps all tier 8 premiums should come with free 6th sense?

This poll isn't getting people to vote to give themselves free stuff. It is an idea to help keep the game alive. If you are to selfish to see that and there are too many like you the game will just die. There is too large a gap between new players and experienced players to be fair.

I don't believe this is dumbing down the game. Do you think that the longer this game exists the gap grows larger between experienced players and new players? This is kind of like you not advocating the advanced equipment that the best players will win in Ranked Battles. Think about it.
