I think  it's in Wg best interest to restart the council of armed forces and discuss changes with the community before making drastic changes which often yield a decrease in population base.

This is better posting that usual from an Otter DC.

10x10 advances is a band-aid. It's better for clans to die and re-form than to keep lowering roster requirements and changing the battle conditions for team play and events. It's like we're rolling dice to determine how many tier X tanks get used in all these different tournaments and game modes. Tonight, is it 7 tanks? 10? 12? 14? 15?  Who knows. Stop over complicating things. The end-game has always been tier X, 15x15.

You are completely over complicating this, why would you change end-game content from anything other than 15 v 15 tier X? Are clans activity dying so much that you've been forced to reduce the number of actual Clan Members in strongholds to such a degree?

Also is there is no actual Clan Wars news in this post, unless Advances are the new Clan Wars?

Am I the only guy who see this as a great change?  There will be more teams and more tactics. It's a good news for NA server with such low population.

It used to hard to find another 15 purple team against in the past. But it's highly possible to find several 10 purple teams against now.

And I don't know if a clan can run two teams with twenty people.:)

Maybe you should reduce the Tier X Skirmish team to 10 players and keep Advances at 15?

It seems to make more sense to me.

no one does t10 skirms tho xD

i really dont think WG know what they are doing, they said the community asked for bigger battles so they are working on 30v30 thats fine but then you make 10v10. thats not bigger WG....

The 30 vs 30 is a pub thing, not a stronghold or clan wars thing at all. The hole 10 vs 10 in tier 10 strongholds is more inlikely to get ppl to play tier 10's in strongholds. No one and I mean no one play's tier 10 strongholds, yes some on a blue moon will play tier 10 strongholds, but why when you can play tier 8 and make just as much as a tier 10 with 2+ teams in the amount of time it takes to even find a tier 10 stronghold. They just need to stop messing with how the global map is and strongholds, and put it back how it use to be. The end game is the goal as it should be in clan wars and strongholds. I can go on for a long time about how things where and how things are now, but every1 already knows both sides. But wargaming just needs to leave things the way they are or were.

WG is doing a disservice to the part of the community that prefers Clan Wars. The number of players who play CW has been shrinking in total size for a long time, then it's further divided between the different tiers. WG kills it further by having no CW at all for a month plus now. Sure some players have remained active in ranked battles, and pub battles to play some. With no CW those players who prefer that mode are now looking elsewhere (ie other games) to fill that void.

This isn't anything new, it's frustrating to see WG continually nailing the coffin shut for NA based clan wars.

We played last night in what Dance's post called the "test" of 10 v. 10 advances. 15 v. 15 advances wasn't broke; indeed, it was the best new mode in a long time. The change doesn't seem to fix anything about the battles. The 10 v. 10 battles are simply not the "big boy" battles that many of us like.

Can Dance or someone else tell us the reasoning behind the change? If the idea is to make advances less attractive so that it doesn't conflict with other modes, then it might work. If the idea is to make advances easier for smaller clans to play, then it might be counterproductive. While you gain some clans, you may lose clans that like 15 v. 15. Anyway, I'm just guessing. What are we testing?

Reducing to 10v10 to help T10 skirmishes makes sense (although you'll need more than that for folks to play them), but I'm disappointed that was applied to advances. 15v15 was great. Maybe just allow more legionnaires instead? I always saw more legionnaires than available spots in advances.

This is what happens when u screw up a good game.
Theres such a low population that que times are whacked.
New players arent staying long term. And experienced are leaving.
In another year things will be 10x worse just because theres going to be less total players and even less high tier players

Hello Clan Wars players,

Clan Wars is getting ready for a round of hot changes for the summer!

Strongholds

June

  • June 26: Tier X Skirmishes will be disabled for the time being
    • Players reported frequent queue timeouts in Tier X Skirmishes. Tier X Skirmishes will be disabled while we review this issue and overall Strongholds gameplay.

July

Some Strongholds tests will be running in July (dates TBD):

  • Early July: Team sizes in Advances reduced to 10v10. Battles are still Tier X.
  • Mid-July: Tier VIII detachments will have new requirements:
    • Minimum number of Clan players reduced from 10 to 2.
    • Maximum legionnaires increased from 3 to 8.
  • In July: War Games testing will restart.

Global Map

Season 6 of the Global Map is beginning this summer! More details to come.

Well, the summers half way over. We're waiting:sceptic:

Hello Everyone,

We received some reports about Stronghold changes that would have taken effect in mid-July regarding legionnaires. The UI wasn't reflecting the change from allowing 3 legionnaires up to 8 for Tier VIII detachments. Earlier this morning, we had our devs investigate the issue and apply a fix. As soon as Strongholds is open we can confirm those fixes.

Cheers.

July only has 10 days left. when exactly was War Games testing starting?

Although I think everyone is really just looking for when is Clan Wars starting again. It feels like WG has been reducing gold payouts to players more and more, and the easiest fix was just to stop doing CWS completely.

The War Games test was announced here. That is the only test of War Games that I know happened this month.
