So I just finished all the missions for Stug 4 IV, and would like to know how I should go about missions this time around more effectively. Somewhere really annoying and I had to redo 3 of the 15th one's just for honors.

Pick the ones that seem the easiest to get done first.

Hit "start" and play.  Most are pretty easy but some do better with different tanks.  So, which missions?

Is there a set you look at and say, "Yeah man, that's the way I should go?"  I know for the T28HTC most of my light missions were done with the AMX lights and the MT-25.  The medium missions were all over the place.  Some I did with the CDC, but most with the Cromwell.  The Cromwell is particularly well suited to a lot of them.  Artillery was easy with the LeFH, FV304, and eventually the FV3805.  Heavies I struggled with and finally finished the last 4 on a 3 day weekend with the IS_6 rental.  TDs were also had since I don't play many of those, but I finished them with the SU-122-44 after failing with all the different tier 8 rentals they offered.

1. People will tell you to just play and the missions will come, this is false, actively try for missions and you'll actually get them done at a reasonable rate.

2. Think about the required tank. For "deal 3x your hp in damage" a low hp tank like the hellcat or rhm is ideal, because tier doesn't matter. for "deal 4k damage" go with your biggest baddest tank, a hellcat obviously won't work. Generally there isn't a secret tank, think for a bit and you'll be able to pick out ideal vehicles

3. platoon! bring a buddy or two whenever you can, it'll help

Just start playing and distribute your time among the tank classes.  You should be able to get the first 8-10 missions complete without much effort.  Maybe just pay attention to which ones allow you to complete them with a platoon.  Personally I never really focused on the missions, if it

happens it happens.  You will drive yourself nuts if you are focused on completing missions, especially the one that require the MM planets to align to even give you a chance.

To me, all of them seem pretty easy other than the HT missions (I just don't like playing HTs that much).  I usually get the LT/MT missions done really quickly, then TD/SPG at a more leisurely pace, then finally HT missions.

those missions are easy, there's only a few rng dependent ones, focus on the ones you can immediately complete and leave the rng ones for last because you have to do malicious things to complete those missions that are sometimes a detriment to the team

Just open them and play as you normally would.  I don't "focus" on them till I'm down to the last few.

for some folks, with deep garages full of efficient tanks + crews, it isn't false, and in fact not only true, also turns out to be a more enjoyable way to play than to sweat over personal missions.

very few of the missions/campaigns required me to actually concentrate, or focus/spam games in to get done.  some I focused/spammed simply because I was already triggered by something else and wanted to crap on the player base (e.g.  all of the T55a Arty missions were done in 8 days as I ground the 40/43 and into the 53/55 which I originally wanted for clanwars)

that being said I fully recognize that different players have different skill sets, and even limited garages by which to do missions.  for those, I further would advise not to spam/grind a particularly rough personal mission.  I've seen more than one individual frustrated & discouraged by personal missions take an extended break from the game.

When starting a new set (and I just started the t55a set), I "just play".  You'll get a bunch done that way.  It's helpful to know what the mission you are on at the start of each battle, because some require opportunism to complete, but I would not tailor my play in every game to mission requirements.  For example, dont yolo the first minute just because you need ti kill arties, but if you get to late game, and there's still 3 alive at the back, it may be time to take a risk and make a charge for them

I find some tank classes require some sustained play to get into the groove so to speak.  Light tank is probably the most this, so if you're goal is mission grinding, I'd stick to one class per session, and watch some Ace gameplay on youtube for the tanks you expect to play prior to going in.

Oh, and take advantage of platoon play on the missions that count it.  With competent platoon mates, these should be no-brainers in all tank classes.  If you dont have competent platoon mates to go in with, just dynamic platoon invite anyone green or higher, or yellow+ in OP tanks.

All you really need is a decent collection of tanks mainly some tier 5 or 6 seal clubbing tanks and some decent tier 8s though tier 9s and 10s make these missions a lot easier. When it comes to sky cancer missions pick something that has a fast rof with a reasonably broken splash so you can coast through quick as possible.

Yeah I'm with Pig on this.  There's a few missions that actually require attention but if you play a session with a sole focus of getting the missions it's not going to be nearly as much fun.  Personally I never thought I'd get close to the Obj 260 and I never really focused on the missions at first.  Then one day I realized I was getting really close.  Now I've got LT-15 done...and did it again with honors without trying.  I'm on MT-15, TD-15, SPG-15..and have 2 HT missions to go before HT-15 which I think will actually be much easier than the 2 I have left.

So my vote goes to just turn them on.  If you're platooning with friends then switch to the platoon missions just in case.  They will happen.

One suggestion -- go to Aslain.com and download the mods installer.  Select what you want (It is a very long list of LEGAL mods), buy the one you're looking for is "Personal Missions helper". It will display the mission while you are in battle.  As you move up the campaigns get more difficult.  Being able to quickly review the mission details and progress (It displays off to the left side) allows you to:

  1. Determine if the given mission is even do-able (are there enough HT, TDs, or whatever to even attempt the mission)
  2. Track your progress toward that mission during the game -- you can focus on the team winning, the opponent in front of you, and when you see that "Hey, I could get this one" -- then you can look around for the right target, hidden location, etc to actually complete the mission.  For me this was the best feature of the mod.  I cannot count the times I was supposed to "Spot x number and Survive and Win" -- only to throw myself into the battle with a dead nut lock on the win and the condition met -- and get killed in the last minute of the fight.

The other nice thing about this second feature -- it allows you to concentrate on the team, on winning, situational awareness, so you don't run around virtually useless while trying to complete your personal "Mission".

A large chunk of them can be completed very easily by just hopping into tier 9 and 10 tanks for a while as most simple damage related ones are like playing a standard OK game in higher tiers. With the ones that require you to kill higher tier tanks then obviously hop in lower tier 7 or 8 vehicles. For a percentage of blocked or damage done based on your vehicle HP then research your stats and see what tanks you do a good blocked/HP or damage/HP ratio.

For TD missions use the all mighty Obj 704...that thing eats TD missions for breakfast as its got ok armor, mobility, and that derpy 700ish alpha gun. I completed most of the TD missions for Stug 4, T28, and T55a with honors using that glorious derpy beast of a TD.
