Recently playing WOT has resulted in severe lag spikes that make the game unplayable.  The stuttering, jerky graphics make maneuver and fire unfeasible.  The game cannot be played effectively.  I have an I5 with 16GB of Ram, playing the game off an SSD, with an Nivida GTX970 graphics card.  I have done several malware scans, loaded both the latest and legacy drivers for the graphics card, utilized and active ping trace which has come back with absolutely flawless performance (30ms or less along the entire trace of my provider's network and ZERO packet loss).  None of my other games experience this issue.  Until this matter is resolved, I am going to let my premium account lapse, and I will not be purchasing gold nor premium vehicles.  I will time to time try the game under the free account.  When the issue is resolved, I will resume business as usual.

I've come to the conclusion that WG has no idea what causes it, and no clue how to fix it.

don't worry it's your ISP's fault.  your computer's fault.  sun flare.  water in the lines.  or some pesky squirrel chewing on stuff.  anything but wargaming's fault.  only been an on again off again problem for all six years I've been playing.

I had a lag spike in my noob-proof Type 4, and it made me drive off a bridge and tip on my side

Mine is just the east server Ping of(22-33), but when I switch to the west ( 110-130) it runs smooth as glass. If I play the west for a while then switch back to the east the lag spikes disappear. I have not figured out if this is a time thing, something the west coast server has( server side that the east coast is lacking, or just dumb luck. The east is unplayable by itself and am not adding premium time until it is resolved( 9 hours left).

Only the east server is affecting me.  Like combatcmdr, I have no problems on the west server.

I also have a (sometimes) 30ms ping to east but I get constant lag and rubber banding anyway.  Finally after many rounds of trying things on my computer I decided hey why not just try the west server.

SO yea even tho it's more than double the ping time - no problems at all.

I wish they would fix this...  West is ok but there's usually more players on the east so queue times are less.

I am having the same issues on NA East (USE). Game is almost unplayable since today's update. I have a six-core AMD with NVidia GEForce, 8 GB, and SSD. This PC ran flawlessly with the previous version. I've lowered the render and changed the graphics to minimal but other tanks still "teleport" and I have bad lag times when I lose control of the vehicle. West seems a little better.

I'm going to try

Guess I'll add my name to the list:  Average 30-40ms on the East server but apparent packet loss.  Average 100ms on the West server but consistent and playable.

I only have lag spikes when I'm aiming at the top players on the other team....from mid 70s to high 600s.... at least a dozen times.  I call lagswitch.
No proof. I must have imagined it. :/

Have you run PingPlotter for at least 15 minutes and then send that file in a Support Ticket as requested by WarGaming?

For your convenience - https://na.wargaming...kb/articles/145

Who knows - it might be your ISP and how they route to the NA servers from your location.

If you find a significant drop in latency at any IP address [hop] prior to the last hop and 162.216.229.21/162.213.61.57 then you will need to contact your ISP to see if they can re-route around that IP address.

If you find a significant drop in latency between 162.216.229.21/162.213.61.57 and the next hop - then raise a Support Ticket.

WarGaming Support will probably want you to submit a WGCheck report.

I am running the WoT Mac Wrapper on following and my Ping to 162.216.229.21/162.213.61.57 is 91ms and 33ms respectively.  I am currently showing zero packet loss to 162.213.61.57 with an average ping of 30ms using PingPlotter.

Yup it can't be wg's 7 year old server nahh it's your brand new fiber optic internet causing the lag or that gaming pc you built last year, all your fault. ( sarcasm level high )

According to PingPlotter there is currently an average of 12ms latency between my iMac and the NA West server.

With the exception of one time [that I can remember] the source of high/complete packet loss has occurred at an IP address that is NOT the Wargaming NA server.  You seem to be confused in thinking that Wargaming is responsible for ALL servers between your client and their servers.  Well they are not.  So unless you can provide data - e.g. a PingPlotter graph - showing high/complete packet loss at the/a Wargaming server then your statements are just your opinion.

Please provide the data from which you are drawing your statement that the Wargaming NA servers are seven years old.

I can smell the blue smoke of the server box melting away each time the friendslist goes down.

So Friends List and lag spikes are now related?
