Wish I had replay to attach. But this has happened multiple times with various tanks. Thought if enough people also experience, then perhaps wargaming might try to tweak things slightly. OK. I know that last part will never happen.

Using my E25 shooting gold into side of Defender - can't pen. Put 6 shots into tracks to try to track so i'll get the damage assistance. Not a single shot was able to track him. So screw it, shot him in the side of the turret. 0 damage, but it did track him. Go figure.

Side of turret shot tracks him? Sounds more like someone isn't using server reticle.

Sounds like another new gadget provided by wargaming. Just like the contact list bust and the rubber band lag.

LMBO, because that is the only way to deal with all that utter horse manure in game.

could be lag, where you see your shots go and where the tank "is" are two different things.

This short port contains best and most of current issues. E25, Gold and Defender. I guess Arty was watching all of them.

This is more common than you would think. Nail the turret of a hull down heavy at the end of an alley - then watch as all it does is track him.

Without a replay to watch your description is basically meaningless. That's not a shot at you, it's just a statement of reality. It's really easy to misinterpret what happens in battles, and it's very helpful to have others review replays, multiple sets of eyes usually resolve errors of perception.

How hard can it be to activate replays so your whine has some substance?

I agree. I like to snipe and my long range accuracy gets a lot worse with lag.

this is a case of "not knowing the game mechanics properly"

below screenshot is for *REFERENCE* i know the OP said he shot the side. i wanted you to be able to see how much the turret overlaps the tracks.

shells continue to travel after they hit a tank. if they ricochet, some pen is lost, but they fly normally. shells have to hit something or travel 720 meters (10,000 for arty) before they will stop. shells that hit armor and pen (even spaced armor) will continue to travel for 10 times their calibre. the E-25 has a 75mm gun, so the shells will travel 75cm after hitting. (this is also how people ammo rack you from the front, especially with larger calibre guns since the shell travels over a meter inside the tank)

the OP hit the side, and ricocheted off straight down into and out of the hull and into the tracks. he could have also possible ricocheted off into the hull and hit an internal tracks module location and scored a critical hit that way as well.

An OP tank driver complaining about OP tanks, gg.

Instead of shooting at the side armor shoot at the track sprocket.
