Here's hoping the M48 changes make it to the live server.

Still no update for the British tanks? Or are the British tanks already "balanced"?

Haven't they said things like that in the past and BAM! it's a tier 8 premium bundle with crap we don't want. Come on you know they are going to do it.

Yeah, but they Sell Tier 8 Premiums, they don't Sell Tier 10 Reward Tanks...

So. Much. B!tching.

I wonder if some people have a template for responses. Feel free to chose one:

"Why are you buffing (insert tank name here) when the (insert nation) (insert tank class) is completely irrelevant! Buff the (insert same nation/class here) first!!"

"Stop buffing tanks and get us new maps!!"

"Arty sux"

"Bring back the (insert irrelevant tank that I used to complain about but now say that I want it and it should never have been removed), you messed up with that realignment!"

"(some other random thing that has little/nothing to o with the OP's post)"

These M60 posts get annoying and repetitive. Imagine, you could get good, participate in a campaign and earn an M60.

The M60A1 is a much superior variant with a better designed turret, and armor. Do some research before confusing it with the first M60 variant that is much less armored and has a M48 turret.

Also on a side note when will the M60 get a buff? Originally it was balanced to have more speed and better overall gun stats to make up the lack of armor the M48A1 has and now the M48A1, with multiple buffs has better everything which makes the M60 obsolete in every way but with ''slightly'' better acceleration.

Edit: Also why not give the M47 Patton's actual hull instead of the M46 Patton's hull and just rename it to that?

Two American tanks go to the Super test now in order to have their turrets tested!

M48A1 Patton gets its new turret (from M48A5) with a smaller cupola and improved front armor of the turret.

M46 Patton will have improved armor of the mantlet on the standard turret (it’ll be improved till the level of M26). Effective front armor of the top turret will be ~220 mm.

Now the top Patton doesn’t have good armor of the turret and is more vulnerable due to the cupola. The new turret together with the improved armor will make it possible to play based on the terrain and to “tank” more successfully.

For M46 Patton we will improve the armor of the front turret without replacing it, and will keep this branch as the branch of MTs with excellent elevation angle and solid turrets on high tiers.

Please, mind that testing on the Super test doesn’t entail inevitable release of vehicles’ changes on the main servers.

Stop changing tanks that dont need to be changed! Jesus... just stop buffing tanks that dont need it. None of these changes are needed.

Stupid change. Lets not implement the 1960s M60A1 and instead implement a 1970s M48A5 AND over buff the turret to extremely ahistorical values.

I swear, is WGNA BLIND to all the request for the M60A1? Are you guys telling Minsk any of our feedback here? Or are you all fine with the NA servers dwindling playerbase? Maybe send another stupid letter to Jim Sterling?

Of course, watch as WGNA makes a thread/post and never reply to it.

Maybe you could get good in the real world or just be less ignorant and learn the difference between the M60 and M60A1.

You've rendered the M48A5 with the wrong engine deck. M48A3 and A5 had the identical engines as the M60 series.

It's because they just slapped the A5 turret on the A1 hull

because introducing a tank that existed IRL and some of the WOT players have actually driven IRL and then locking it behind a CW marathon remains one of the dumbest things WG has ever done in terms of handling how vehicles are implemented into the game.

Ah... So what exactly is the US Tier X medium now? An M48A1 hull with an M48A5 turret which is ahistorically buffed. What a freaking mess. And I thought the US tank tree couldn't become any more messy.

It's hard to see where WG is going with these SuperTest changes when everything is announced separately, but I personally think it's more of the 'increased armour, brawling in corridors' Metagame being translated into new tank designs.

The flimsy but potent and fast BatChat gets a nerf, but the heavily armoured Obj. 140 and T-54 get a huge buff as does the Patton line.

This isn't just about changes to a few tanks, it's part of WG's ongoing campaign to change the overall play style, and incidentally encourage people to spend more money because they can only get through the enemy turrets with gold rounds.

Personally I'm not a fan of the brawling, corridor Meta. It makes the matches too similar, game after game: Mediums go here, Heavies go there, Lights hide until the end of the game, Sniping TDs camp in the back and hope the game isn't hopelessly lost by the time they actually get to shoot someone.

However, knowing the direction the game is going, you're better off grinding heavies, heavily armoured 'assault' TDs, tough mediums like the new Obj. 140 and just play lights if you enjoy being irrelevant.

I'll miss the old meta, but whatever.

The Isrealis first upgraded their M48A2's by adding the M60 powerpack (engine) and 105mm cannon and deleting the MG cupola (it got hit a lot and usually decapitated the commander. At the time the USA was running the M48A3 with the M60 powerpack and 90mm gun in Vietnam. In Europe the M60 series was equipped. During the Yom Kippur War in 1973 the Isrealis lost hundreds of tanks and Nixon authorized direct resupply of Israel from US Army stockpiles of then new  M60A1 tanks. This created a shortage of modern MBT's for US Army Europe and the budget was being cut at the time. The solution was to upgrade the existing stocks of older M48 tanks to be as close as possible to M60A1 standard. So they copied the Israelis and the M48A5 was born- equipping US Army in Korea and National Guard and reserve units thru the eighties.

The solution was to upgrade the existing stocks of older M48 tanks to be as close as possible to M60A1 standard. So they copied the Israelis and the M48A5 was born- equipping US Army in Korea and National Guard and reserve units thru the eighties.

Actually, the Israelis were not the first to upgrade their M48s into the Magach 3 configuration (M60 AVDS-1790 diesel engine, Allison CD-850 transmission, and 105mm M68 cannon), this was actually a US configuration put together for Israel as part of the deal to supply Israel with M48s from Germany. Israel attended a 1964 trial in Germany of the then new Leopard 1 against an American M60 and the German M48A2s, as well as from the US, two M48A3s equipped with the 105mm M68. Several of these modified M48s were shipped over to Israel from the US in time to see combat in the Six Days War in 1967, and Israel began converting the rest of its M48 fleet (both vehicles acquired from Germany as well as captured Jordanian examples) afterwards. All were converted by the time of the Yom Kippur War in 1973. The Israeli Urdan cupola was actually inspired by the original M48 cupola, before the MG cupola was introduced in the US. So in a roundabout way, it came full circle back to the US.

In addition to Operation Nickelgrass where M60s, M60A1s, and M48s were supplied right from US stocks to Israel during the Yom Kippur War where they were quite literally unloaded, repainted in Israeli markings, and sent off into combat, there was also a large shipment of military equipment to Israel around 1979 thanks to the then US Defense Secretary, Harold Brown. This included a large number of M48A5 and M60A3 tanks.

Strange that they still called it a M47 anyway. :P

For a long time people suggested they should down tier the tier 8-10 tanks with a more historical load out since they were over buffed anyway and give us the M60A1 as the top tier.
