So in this image, the machine gun mount appears to be on the left hand side of the tank, but I thought M46 Pattons (and American tanks in general) all had the machine gun on the right.  Is this a special M46 or does it have something to do with the camera or the way the film was developed?

It's more than likely a reversed image.

so the driver had his own bow gun? Or was the driver on the right side?

I just did google it and that has to be a reversed image. All the ones I found except the one he pictured had it on the right side.

It's possible that something could have been added to the tank, in the field modifications. You can't see other side of the rear turret area.

Thanks guys, so there wasn't some rare variant that had it on the left hand side.
