why do people tend to ignore the white cap...even when the enemy team gets on it and the siren is going off.  why does everyone think we have to kill all the enemy tanks instead of cappinIsn't it better to have a bad win than have a really good loss?

And yet, when you look at the types of players who don't flex to defend, they almost always have bad stats across the board. Enemies capping is a WN8 farmer's wet dream, because cap circles are basically barrels full of fish. The bads who lack the awareness to flex aren't farming right, if stats were really their focus.

Now that you mentioned it, I didn't read it right, my bad.

I understood it as the clasic "Don't cap, muh WN8" scenario, but regarding this other problem, I'd point out three causes:

1. Lack of map awareness.

2. Being foolish enough to believe someone else is going to defend the cap for you.

3. Being in a slow tank that won't make it there even if you try so you decide to keep pushing (It happened to me a lot).

Because most don't understand how to win in standard mode let alone encounter or assault...

For the record approximately 85% of games are won by extermination (check vbaddict)... these annoying cases where capping loses and not capping loses are a small but annoying part of the overall...

Turned off Encounter about 4 years ago. Too much frustration.

My last encounter game involved being capped out while 10 green players hid at back of map.

I cannot go back there ever again.

I would turn it off if it wasn't that maps like Malinovka are more enjoyable in encounter.

Realistically though, capping in encounter takes a long time, and most cap circles are exposed.  It's usually a mistake to go for cap.  There's usually no need to panic when the sirens go off.  You see "come from behind" cap wins in encounter very rarely.  It's usually more fruitful to gain map control via winning strategic positions.

Capping encounter mode is the dumbest tactic ever.   The cap timer is so much slower than standard mode, and adding more tanks does not significantly speed up the timer.   For every battle lost to cap in encounter mode,  I'd say 20 more are lost because some idiot(s) parked themselves uselessly on cap, only to die in the inevitable shooting gallery at the end of battle.

All that needs to happen is for one tank to spot every 30 seconds or so and reset.  That's what I did in the old MM as bottom tier tank.  Plenty of time to relocate and pop up somewhere else.    It annoys the hell out of those idiots when you don't give them something to shoot back at.   Too many players try to duel with multiple tanks that sit on cap, get killed, then scream at their team mates for not helping.

because with 3 people it takes a full minute and thirty seconds to cap out, that's 3 tanks that aren't doing anything during that time, if you can't take advantage of that you have issues

Also artillery loves it when you group up to do this
