Tanks like the M48, E100, or Bc25T, where you have to grind to receive the top gun.

I feel like after going up the entire line, one deserves to have the best equipment unlocked on their brand new tank. I, for example, just got the M48 Patton, and it's really triggering me that I have to grind up the tanks gun.

yea, I know, it sounds lazy, but come on WG, can't you let this one slide?

They'd have to increase the cost to research the tanks, because the grind is intended to make up for the lower overall exp cost to get to those tanks in the first place.

Not a terrible idea, but WG might be keeping things like the 90mm on the M48 and the D-25 on the IS-4 to maintain some semblance of historical armament.

You could have multiple guns but still have them all researched for free.

l am not sure of the total EXP required,  but have you thought that perhaps the totals are factored into the line as a whole? ls getting to the M48 cheaper in EXP and silver,  than getting to the other T X? Then when added with the final T X unlockables, they finally equal out?  Don't know, but if this is the case then l guess that is what it is.

Another thing is, WG expressed that they like the tanks to have their historic weapons, at least stock.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. In M48 case, the imaginary gun that comes with it just not there vs tier X. It's just aggravating.

E100 at least it have a workable gun, the 128mm.

Yes, M48 is like the cheapest tier 10 to research IIRC.

WG stated that they tried to keep the XP costs for lines all similar, so lines that have tanks with lots of different gun or module unlocks will cost less to research the tanks, especially at tier 10. Less modules to grind = more XP to unlock the next tank.

Type 5 also, I play to unlock everything but have not purchased the Type 5, it is likely to bother me until I do.

Come on now.  I played 9 games in the BatChat before I realized the gun needed to be upgraded.  Using the 90mm was fantastic.

Do I need to point out the sarcasm, or has this forum figured this stuff out yet?.

My only regret, as mentioned elsewhere here, is that the Patton 48's long ninety was absolute trash.  Maybe for Tier 10's they could have the lower gun have higher pen and worse damage (M48's 90, for example), and have good pen but higher damage on the unlockable gun.  According to historical and personal accounts I've read, the tankers who drove the M48 observed the gun was really great in both accuracy and damage output (See Tank Sergeant  by Ralph Zumbro for a really interesting account of jungle-tanking Pattons in Vietnam).

Hence why they should put out M60A1 as tier X. That one historically comes with 105mm.

This is why the thread is created. Tier X should come with fully unlocked modules. Current meta is fit whatever top modules you can fit, E100 with 128mm? Might as well get a Maus instead. Whoever thought fitting M48 with the other 105mm is a good idea? You'll want top gun. Period.

That's why having these "extra grind" tier X is a terrible idea.
